Want to add 44" tires. How?

I know nothing about trucks other than I have one. I have a 05' f150 stx reg cab, I will be getting a christmas bonus this year, probably around 5 grand. Will this be enough to get a lift kit that will allow 44's and also include the tires? and if not, how much are we talking? and also what size kit would I need, and who makes one. Does anyone have a photo of a truck with 44's New body style? can you tell me what I would need? PLEASE help.

For 44's on a NBS F150, your looking at a solid axle swap. Thats the smartest logical way to do so. But 5K might not be enough.

44" tires run for about $500 a piece. So lets just say you buy four and a spare, and pick up some rims for $100 a piece (just as an example). That totals $3000 just in wheels/tires, leaving you with $2000 for the lift and other parts.

Good luck finding a lift kit to fit those tires for that cheap.

Dont think 5k will be able to cover the whole bill. Going with a Rize 12" and 40"s may bring the cost down more. But still probably wont cover it.

5k wont even get near a 12" rize with tires let alone rims, driveshafts, gears, leafpacks and so on...

In the OP's name it says STX, are you planning 44's with a 4.6? talk about a slug

theres no way! you can do 37's MAYBE for 5k.

you will have to regear to 4.88's

5,000
-1,500 (for regear)
-3200 (8" rize)
-600 (rims)
- 1200 (tires)
=-1500 bucks.

i spend 3550 for my lift, wheels, tires. 6" with 35's. so you could MAYBE do a 6" kit 2" spacer AAL and regear w/ 37's if you shop wisely. now if you install yourself that will open up alot of possiblities

It would be cheaper to get an f350 with the prices they are going for these days. As others have said a SAS is your only way to go and you would have one of the biggest f150s on the site. For 5 grand most people can only get a 6" lift with wheels and 35 or 37" tires. It will cost you 10-20k to do what you want to do. It will be a lot of custom work

if you wanna run 44's, sell it and step up to a superduty, even then your pushing the envelope with stock drivetrain but its gonna be cheaper in the long run.

you can maybe get some 42's or 43's on it if you do a rize 12" with a 3" BL.

the rize 12" is $4100 for just the front
the rear is $1100 i beleive.
there is $5200.
Body lift around $250
Install for BL~$800-$1000
Instal for Lift~$600-$800
Re Gearing-$1500
Drive shafts~$800-$1000 (both)
Tires~$500 a peice. ($2000)
Wheels~$150 a piece($600)

So you can run Close to 44's for Around $12000.

44's eat 1/2 ton axles all day everyday

SAS to 1 ton running gear is gonna be expensive but do-able.
depending on who you know and how well they like you you might be able to find the axles and be able to fab up some stuff to keep em under there, yer gonna be looking at used parts and scouring ebay and other online forumns, such as "tennesseeoffroad.com".

At any rate, 44's alone are a fortune and axles, driveshafts, brake lines, steering linkages, springs... the list goes on. I say completely DIY i think its doable for 7 grand at the least, done right! A shop doin it, yer talkin 11k easily prolly.

Good luck,

Maybe going with the 12" rize, 5100's(is this possible with the rize guys?), and a 3" body lift you would prolly be getting close but idk.

Lets us know what you decide to do...
