37s
yeah i think that's what i'm gonna do.. i'm just afraid 35's wont look big enough.. but anything is better than my 01 accord.. hahaha. if i didnt re-gear w/ 35s would that fry my transmission?
in my opinion, 35" tires on 18s or 20s is one of the best looking set ups to have with one of the 6" lifts for the 04+ trucks. And...if you get a truck with 3.73 gears and don't raw dog the chit out of it, you more than likely won't have to regear if you stick with 35s. I agree with you though, 37s do look good but you can save a lot by going with 35s. That way you can save that money you were gonna spend on 37s and an get intake, exhaust, programmer..and so on

You dont have to regear with 35s but if you do want a little more giddyup you can get a programmer and CAI
And about the flareside or regular... IMO i like the regular better but i am a little biased
Heres a pic of my 04 with a 6" Fabtech Stage 1 on 35x12.5x20 Toyo OC M/ts

i like the style sides a whole lot better on the 04+ compared to the flaresides. Biggest thing is..if you unsure about it then don't get it. If your patient you'll find one you like, but if i were you i woudn't just settle for something i wasn't sure if i liked or not just so i could have a truck right now.

That looks really good.. how do you like the toyo's im thinkin of going with them
dude, you have a 97-03. rize and procomp are not an option. the 04-08's have a coilover based IFS, you have a torsion bar based IFS. The only way you are going to clear 37's and keeping your truck reliable is to do the 6'' suspension lift (fabtech, RCD, BDS) and a 3'' Performance Accessories body lift. There is no other way to keep the truck reliable while keeping the torsion bar based IFS. Your only other option would be a solid axle swap (not cheap or easy). All the BIG suspension lifts for our generation trucks tend to fall apart under any stress.
In any case, running a 37, you are going to have to regear, preferably to a 4.88 ratio. Otherwise, you'll find the transmission gives up the ghost in about a year or less. This is not going to be cheap: suspension lift ~$1500, body lift ~$200, wheels ~$700-$1000, tires ~$1200, gears installed ~$1500. You have to do BOTH axles in a 4x4. If you don't regear and blow the transmission, rebuild it, and still don't regear, you will blow it again. The question is, how deep are your pockets?
Also, there is no coilover conversion kit I know of for the 4WD 97-03. The 2WD version is not cheap, either.

Yes! You will ruin your tranny. Notice how much pedal you have to put in it to get the 37/38s turning. You need 4.88 gears front and rear.
Love 'em! Im mainly a street queen so i love how they are quiet and have a smooth ride. Ive had them for about 2.5k miles and see barely any tread wear.
