height between 4x4 and 4x2 with lift

height between 4x4 and 4x2 with lift

hey guys i have been asking a jillion questions about lifts and what not and im just curious i have settled on what im doing but i wanted to ask.i know the 4x4 is taller from the factory.but i have the 4x2.i am wondering after a 6 inch lift and 2 inch spacer and 2 inch aal what is the difference in height between the 2.the 4x4s look so much bigger and the 4x2 seem to not look so big.is it the pics that im looking at or is it just me.i really want 37s on 22s and would hate for them to not fit because the 4x4 can clear them and the 4x2 cant.i do understand some of the 4x4 do the 8 inch but the 6+2 is still 8 inches.im just looking for a dramatic difference in height compared to stock and make sure my big *** wheels and tires fit.

I think with the 2" spacer and 2" AAL on top of your 6" lift you'll be as tall as a 4WD with a 6" lift only. My truck's a 2WD with only a 6" lift and it measures 83" from ground to the top of the cab. Maybe someone wiht a 4WD and 6" will chime in on their measurements to kind of give you an idea.

I agree. If you want 37's, I'd add a 3 inch body lift also.

hey i got a 2wd and i have 36's and the lift i have is a 6 inch fabtech with coils-overs (not cranked) and a 2.5 inch leveling kit. If you get this set-up you can fit 37's if you crank the coils.

did a quick measurement and i meausre 86 3/4 inches from the cab

why dont u remove the spacer and crank the coilovers, or its not the same on2wd???

i just left it on because i bought it a couple months before and didn't want to waste my money in it and i didn't want the ride to be really harsh because if you crank the coils they will be stiffer than they alrady are lol

im planning on getting the fabtech with the dls all around so i can crank them instead of getting the body lift.the body lift seems to be alot of hassle.i really have concerns with that.unless i find 36 inch mud tires that fit on 22s but im really pushing for 37.thanks for the replies i really appreciate the input.

ok like the other guy said (sorry forgot name)i am going 6 inch fabtech,2 inch spacer instead of 2.5 (i already have the 2 inch)and 2 inch aal.now i am getting the dls with my lift kit.so if i cranked the coils and do a 5 inch block out back then do yall think i can clear 37s?i really do not want a body lift.that should be give or take about 10-10.5 inches in lift.

Your not going to be able to fit 37's on 8" of lift for a 2WD truck. I have 8" of lift on my 4WD (6in Suspension with coilovers cranked and AAL) and I still rub a little. Your going to need about 10" of lift total to clear the 37's. So id consider maybe the 6" Suspension, 1.5" Spacer, and a 3" Body lift.

no, with a 2in spacer and coilovers cranked 2-2.5in your cv and uca angles will be so bad they will probably break when you put the truck in drive and try to go anywhere. you do not need to stack a spacer ontop of adjustable coilovers unless you are going to leave the coilovers at stock height.
So you will need either or, a spacer or adjustable coilovers. Id personally go with the coilovers. They look better and ride better.
So like I said originally. You will need a 6" Suspension, 3" Body, and either adjustable coilovers or a spacer. You will also want a AAL in the rear to lvl it out.
I dont know what lifts are available for the 2WD vehicles but if i were you id just look into buying a bigger suspension lift if they make them.

^^^ he doesn't have CV axles he is a 2wd and to the original poster if you go with my setup and crank the coils 1/2 inch higher than how they come you can get 37's and my UCA angles are perfect by the way so it could handle 1/2 inch of lift.


ALSO seth19 i love your truck it looks good

awsome man thats what i needed to hear.thanks.the only difference in your set up and the set im doing is my spacer is 2 and yours is 2.5i already have to 2 inch spacer so thanks alot.

just be sure to crank the coil-overs about 1.5 inches to 1.75 inches higher than how they come so they will clear the 37's and your UCA's should still be fine. Hope it all works out for you. let me know if you have any questions oh yeah and also make sure you get the right rim with the right backspacing and offset

hey you mentioned the right rim and etc.i am looking at kmc xd hoss.22x9.5 and the general consensus is 5 inches of backspacing.now what is offset?i honestly dont know what offset is.what are your specs?i know you have a 20x 10 inch wheel but i may go down to a 20.
