I'll have some more pictures tonight, the bay area that I'm using was closed on Mon and Tues, so I hope to have it nearly done or completely done today.

Not trying to fuel a fire, but I've personally seen 8.8s blow apart from 40" tires. Mind you they were doing some pretty nasty stuff with it. It's going to be a sweet looking truck when its finished. Props to you for even doing it. Just be careful..

You are right in assuming that your CV axles will take the majority of the stress, however they are still linked to the axle so it's still getting stress.

Definitely need some pics!

his truck has a 9.75". not an 8.8" we just went over this. page 6

seriously! lol i just set up an appointment with 4wheelparts for 4.88's tomorrow and when they said i have a 9.75" rear i smiled. lol i always thought it was an 8.8"

I think when I priced out my gears they thought I had 8.8 too.

yup i couldnt get precision gears in the front because of that, so i had to get Genuine, kinda annoying.

i get them installed tomorrow at 4wheelparts! im kind of excited! lol i'll let you know with power and mileage once its done!

I was talking about the front. Front axles are usually weaker on 4wd trucks. Doesn't make sense to me but I guess the engineers know what they're doing.

oh ya my bad i just realized that! well i honestly dont think that they knew what they where doing! lol my buddy just broke his third T-case and his front dif. sounds like hell!

That's a shame.. I guess that's what happens when you beat the hell outta stuff. I'm assuming he was wheelin pretty hard...
