Would it hurt to get a longer rear driveshaft for the 12" kit?

Good Question, I Don't know the kit only recommended the front driveshaft be replaced.

Fudge!!!! The heck with it, I'm putting on this lift whether the rear driveshaft works or not! I'll make this truck into a front wheel drive if I have too, driveshaft or not this truck is going to RIZE UP!

If it does end up needing to be longer, and I think it will, a local driveline shop can lengthen your current driveshaft. That way you won't have to buy a brand new one.

I'm not going to much about it, I can't turn back now, Thumper, Did your 8" require you to extend your rear driveshaft?

Yes it did, it was shooting transmission fluid out of the tailshaft out of the transfer case until I got a longer driveshaft.

im glad i brought this up because i was looking into getting this kit myself. if you can afford the lift then i dont think an extra $500 for a driveshaft should be a problem.

if you have enough money for this kit and accessories needed, do a SAS. Makes much more sense, honestly.

Just have someone make you an extended shaft, use the factory ends. Its the easiest way.
