hrmm...I never got under there and checked, but was told they were. I guess I shouldn't have assumed that. What the heck makes it an FX4 besides a flow through center console and a different gauge cluster then. Oh well, I'm probably wrong. My Ranger had the bilsteins, I just assumed when my buddy told me that he was correct.

my shocks look the same as the 4x4 shocks. Just plain black. They are definitely not bilsteins and definitely not rancho. Must be valved stiffer or something. I need a better ride and better shocks either way. keep em coming!

I've been told my a couple of people, including a buddy who is a service manager that they are made by Rancho for Ford. But they are not Rancho 5000 or 9000 series shocks.

The f250's do come with the ranchos I believe. I am going to have to say that rancho must design the shocks for ford for the f-150 and they are in fords casing so to say. That would explain why my truck rides like ****.. why can't bilstein make shocks for it, lol!!

None of the 2004+ F150s come with actual Rancho shocks. The previous generation F150s didn't even come with true Rancho shocks. Sure Rancho built them but they were valved to Ford's specs. The new trucks use a shock that is made by Ford but valved differently compared to all of the other models.

Does the FX4 sit any higher than the other 04-08 4x4 F-150s?

Besides the fact the thread is over a year old... lol...
That's something I would love to know too... Does anyone know how the 4x4's height compares to the fx4's? Im pretty sure they are the same... while on the subject, is there a difference in height between the SCREW's and SCAB's?
