Well what are the differences between the fabtech and procomp basic kits. I can get the Fabtech one for $1300 shipped but the procomp cost $1500 shipped. What are the main differences? It looks like to me the procomp has a spring and shock combo instead of just a shock like the fabtech. Is that the reason for the $200 difference? Or am i totally off?

Fabtech= cool looking front cross member, more cutting, new front shocks that reuse your factory front coil spring, they look sweet in blue if you can find one. Probably rides off-road better in the front due to no spacer.

Pro Comp= Basic looking cross member, less cutting, spacer to reuse factory coilover. Probably more prone to breaking in rough offroad situations because its a spacer.

I have no idea which one rides smoother all around. I have coilovers but maybe someone can pipe in?

Are you sure there is more cutting to the Fabtech? Why? I think they're both the same.

The Fabtech doesn't use a spacer. It uses longer shocks and sock springs. The front cross member is a lot nicer and stronger.

Well worth the extra $200 IMO.

The Fabtech kit is a little better made. It comes with a replacement coilover shock and offers the Dirt Logic coilover shocks as an upgrade. The standard Pro Comp kit comes with a bolt on 6 inch metal spacer which allows you to reuse your OEM coilover shocks. It is the least expensive kit. Pro Comp also offers an upgrade to a heavy duty coilover shock.

You only have to cut the 1 rear cross member bracket on any kit. More cutting on what?

Ok i think i have the idea now but you guys have kinda confused me. You all say the Fabtech is the better stronger kit and the way to go but i can get the fabtech kit for 200 dollars less. Is this right? Also would you guys say i competent worker like me could install this kit in the driveway?

Also i only have a 2.5 spacer right now. If i took that off and put the 6" fabtech on i would really only be lifting my truck 3 more inches in the front and 3 inches in the back right? So 33's would look ok. And if i ever wanted to i could just put the spacer on and buy an aal if i ever wanted to go 35's right?

Also i have been looking hard for some 33x12.5R20 but all i could find in that size where Toyo A/T's and those are a little out of my budget. Do you guys know of any other tires in that size? Or really any size that would fit with the 6" fabtech and my OEM 20's.

Thanks So Much!!

I'm not sure. I was told when I got mine installed that Fabtech required more cutting than a Pro Comp.

I stand corrected.

Dacula, Just buy what you like. It sounds like you are doing plenty of research.
