Parking garages and lift

Hi I was wondering if anyone knew what is the height limit to a parking garage. I want to get my truck lifted but I am going to college next year and they only have Garages. I want to lift my truck with the 7.5 lift but then I started to think about the Garages. I don't want to buy it then have to take it off once i go to college

I am not sure if there is a standard limit. However, my truck would barely fit with the leveling kit and 33's at the garage accross the street from my work. I haven't even tried since i put on my 6" lift. The clearence at the garage was 6'6". This is in CA, the regulations could be different in your state. If possible you could try and check what the clearance is at the school you will be attending. Good luck

I don't know where you're going to school, but here at UCF in Orlando, the bottom floor of the garages is huge, something like 9 feet of clearance atleast, I'm not sure about the rest of the floors. I'm lifting my truck larger than yours and have that to worry about as well.

The parking garage where I work is 6' 8", but there are bright red fire sprinkler system pipes on the ceiling that are lower that my truck wont clear. I think you will find that not all garages are of a standard height.

something else to think about when your truck is real muddy, the automated car wash may be too low as well

O ya thing about the car wash is very right... your tire has to be tinner then 12.5 cause thats how big the track is.. dang 13.5in tires... Prices u have to pay for having a lifted truck

Most of the floors in my work garage are only 6'4". That's exactly what my unlifted 4x4 Screw measures.

I have to admit though, despite some drawbacks to having a lifted truck- like car washes, some drive up ATM's, parking garages etc...you cant beat the looks you get tooling around in it.

I have a two year old daughter who loves to ride in my truck but not the wife's Xterra

My stock 4x4 almost hit last night at a garage. The height was 6'2 and my antenna was hitting everything. I could stick my hand out my moon roof and touch the top of the garage. I was pretty damn scared.

I have 2007 w/ 6" of lift in the front and 5" in the rear sitting on 35's. I have about 1" of clearance pulling under my garage at home to park which is exactly 83" high. This should give you an idea of how high your truck will be after lifted.

Also, f150monster232, based on the height of my truck I don't think your truck is between 7'6" and 8' tall. You've got 2 more inches of lift and your 37's vs my 35's will add 1 more inch. Mine is right at 82", so your's is probably closer to 85" (7'1"). Don't be telling fish stories... .

I have an 05 with six inch lift, and 35's. I cannot fit in my home garage, or any parking garage i have been too. I also cannot use most drive thru's. This is in Minnesota.
