I think the basic rule of thumb is 2" looks better on the 2WD and 2.5" is better for 4WD because the back end is higher on 4x4s.

At least that's what I have determined.

I just put the 2.5 AS on my 05 4x4 and it put the front end up 1/4 higher then the back. I put the 3inch block in the back and now the front is 39 1/4 inches to fender well and the back is 40 1/2 inches to fender well. The front lift ended up being 3 1/4inches. I'm getting some 35x12.50x17 Cooper ST's tomorrow. If it's not raining too bad I'll post some pics.

Im about to install one myself and helped me a lot of getting an ideal on what it would look like. I just bought 325/60/18 and hope to get them installed after the AS is installed.
Thanks
Im trip'n about tire size ! I'm still running stock until my rims get in. 325/65/18 is what the my tire guy is suggesting as well....seems a bit wide. Please post some pics when you get yer tires...

Yeah I just got my 325/60/18 tires today!
SO I have the rims and tires and the 2" AS kit should arrive Mon-Tues. I agree the tires seem VERY wide and hope they fit! I made post in the tires forums about having the weights installed and asked others/wendell about the offset and backspacing to see if I should have any issues. Im being told I shouldnt by reading but after seeing theres not much room now between the stock rim/tire from the inside im starting to 2nd guess. hehe

I'll post picks when done. Also if you like I'll go out and take some of the tires in the garage. When they arrived I thought they were the wrong size they were so big but more wide then I thought theyd be. Im just keeping my fingers crossed they will fit with no problems!!!

Yeah take some pics of the tires, what kind of rims did you get? I think I'm gonna email or pm wendell and see what he says. I'm confused on how you get the conversion mm to inches for over all hieght of the tire . Maybe someone will see this and chime in.
I understand how to convert mm to inches but when I put all the numbers together I don't get what I would expect

Just installed the AS 2.5 kit today on my 2WD. Took about 45 minutes on driver side and then 30 minutes on passenger side. Looks good...will get pics up tomorrow.

Measurements are 39" from ground to fender in the front and 38.75" in the rear. Might go with AAL later on...

Here are before and after shots of my FX4 with 2" AS. I think it sits perfect and the 2.5" might have been a little higher in front if I went with it.

BEFORE

AFTER 2" AS

It's funny how things work out...I was just sitting here thinking about tire size, the 285/65/18 to be exact and presto...Onyx hooks it up! Could you get a measurment from the ground to fender? Do you have any front or rear shots? I hope Chris Hansen doesn't see that last sentence...
TRUCK LOOKS GREAT!

TIA
Shane

Thanks!
It would be great if a good tire maker made a 285/70/18 but I haven't found one yet!
I'll be waiting for your measerments
