Is It Okay To Adjust Torsion Bar For Lift?

I Drive A 97 F150 4x4 And I Adjusted The Torsion Bar And It Raised It About An Inch In The Front. Is That Okay Or Can It Cause Damage To My Truck???

It will be a little rougher ride and you will need an alignment. It won't hurt it.If you don't get an alignment your tires will start to wear funny depending on how much your wheels are tipped.

you didn't crank it much so you should be fine and no they should not touch your t-bars.

Mine used to wear on the inside so I figured I can't hurt anything by going up couple. Now I get better tire wear!!!!

How hard to turn

I am in the process of cranking up the torsion bars on my truck. Do you want to turn the bolt in or bring it out??? Does the weight need to be off the suspension?? Im guessing you need to run the bolts out because my wont go in any further. My front fenders are sitting at 36.5" how many turns to get to 38"

You tighten the bolts to lift the truck and loosen them to lower the truck. It's easier to turn them with the front end jacked up.

Take all of the weight off the vehicle and tighten it up so it pushes the key up. Shouldn't take longer than 10 mins. I install 2" lift keys in about 20 mins and that's actually removing the stock keys and putting lift ones in.

Get a small piece of metal pipe that fits over your ratchet and use it as a cheater bar. I did that with mine when I cranked my bars and it made things alot easier...

I've got 04 f150 with coils....I was just saying I install the lift keys for the ford, chevy's and dodge and it takes about 20 mins. I put on about 10-20 a month and haven't had any problems with them yet.
