AS 2.5 level kit question

I'm contemplating putting the AS 2.5 front end leveling kit on my 06' F150 FX4 but still running the OEM rims and tires. I have been reading alot about premature wear on ball joints etc. with the use of bigger tires. Question is will these parts wear out at the same speed without the addition of oversized tires and wheels. new to the forum any help is greatly appreciated, from what I have been reading this is the authoritative site to find info on F-150 mods. Thanks

If you use the search feature, you will find out everything you ever wanted to know about leveling kits. In a nutshell? Did they wear out ball joints prematurely? Some people here will tell you yes, they are bad. Other people here have been running fine with no issues for many miles/years. Each truck is different. I really can't tell you if by running larger tires and wheels speeds up this process or not? Only time will tell if you end up having any issues with a leveling kit. I went with a AS 2.5" on stock OEM tires and no problems so far. It makes your truck look so much better. You can look at my gallery for more picks!

I felt the same way at first, but had it done 1 month after I bought it. I think you'll be ok if you stay with stock tires and wheels.

A lot of things lead to increased wear and tear. Yes, larger tires do increase wear slightly, so will a leveling kit. How much? I doubt it makes a big difference. However, how you use your truck also has an affect on wear and tear. In a nutshell, a believe a truck with large tires and a leveling kit that is maintained and taken care of will outlast a completely stock truck that is beaten and abused daily.

wandell hit it on the head...of course the tires and leveling kit may cause some premature wear, but if you do everything you can to take care of your truck ie service, tire rotate, cleaning, repairs, your truck will last just as long or longer than a stock truck thats beat to sh*t and the owner never does anything to keep it running the best it can! Id say go for it...i did!

Spinnintires and Wandell have got it right! Ive got the 2.5" AS for about 10k now and no problems at all, still as great as the day i bought it. I too was worried about it being brand new, but once i got up and did it, i never looked back. go for it

sides dont matter, and yes it will only go on one way with the bolt pattern, it will just basically drop right on, very easy, just make sure you dont tighten the first set of nuts all the way at first, you will see what i mean, it makes it alot easier to do the second set with the first set fairly loose, good luck!
