Well, mine seems like it was the e-brake. I haven't set it since my posting on this thread and I haven't had the problem. I think it's still a little early before I claim victory, but that's what it looks like right now.

The thing is that when something is out of balance (wheels, driveline, etc.), it should always get the vibration through a certain speed range. Mine was nasty and only happened intermittantly. That instantly ruled out any out of balance problems for me.

Anyway, thanks for the tips in here. This thread has saved me some cash trying to track down the source.

Road force balance is a roller that pushes on the tire, simulating a load, and it can sense if the tire is out of round, instead of just out of balance. Also provides a means to reduce it as much as possible, by putting the high side of the rim, on the low spot of the tire etc.

Dynamic, and static are both common ways, but road force is same thing as dynamic, just a better way to determine a fault.

Unhappy Vibration problem too :help:

I too have a vibration problem with my 04. Since everyone is describing the same "symptoms" as I am having, I'm now wondering if it could indeed be the e-Brake. The only problem with this is that I've never used it.

I got the truck in Nov. and it drove like a cadillac! A couple of weeks ago, my hubby hit a deer. It didn't damage anything other than the grille, bumper and everything in between there to but not included the radiator. We drove it for about a week afterwards and she still ran great! Then we put it in the shop to be put back together. Went yesterday to pick it up and I didn't get back to the highway until she started vibrating real bad. It was so bad that when you looked at the guages, they looked blurry! Anyway, we tried three times to bring her home and she was just to bad. Although at times, she didn't do it at all and never before we hit 55mph. Well the shop guy says that he thinks the transmission is going out. I personally think they had to do SOMETHING to it. (there's other issues that support this claim as well) But either way, Right now, it's at the shop waiting for a mechanic to look at it on Monday and I'm hear having a heart attack.

Does anyone know if it could be the E-brake, even though we've never engaged it? (not saying that the shop didn't for some reason or that it wasn't a problem before Nov. when we got her)

Thanks for ANY advice and feel free to email me too!
