Vibration
Hi I have a 2004 F-150 4by4 with the4.6 v-8. Yesterday while acellerating up to highway speed off a enterance ramp it developed a bad vibration .The whole truck was shacking ' so I pulled off and checked the tire ,rims and driveshaft. Nothing was loose, flat or out of shape. So Itook off again and it started doing it again around 50 and got worse as i went up to 70, even while coasting in nuetral. So I got off the hi way and drove home back roads. This morning I got it up to 60 with no vibration. Has anyonelse had this problem. Thanks
check tires
Check them for balance. Look to see if they are missing their wheel weights. (look for traces of sticky material since the weight wont be there.)
An out of balance wheel will give you a shimmy or vibration.
IF the car PULLS to one side or you have uneven tire wear, that is usually a suspension issue ie= alignment, bad shocks, etc. Good luck.

Sounds to me like it could have been an e-brake sticking. Seems not to be too uncommon with the 2004 - 2006 models. I've never had it happen, but the way you describedwhat happened, it sounds similar to several posts that I have read concerning the e-brake sticking. Search the 2004 & up forum, there should be plenty to read. Good luck.
Your situation sounds exactly like what happened to me a few months back. I had been towing the morning it happened and unhitched. On the way home I had tremendous vibration and I did all the same checks you did. It eventually went away but it happened to me about a month later after having twenty 80 pound bags of concrete in the bed. I took it in to the dealer and they said with the newer trucks the e-brake had been sticking a lot. They replaced my whole e-brake setup (all under warranty
). Hasn't happened since then no matter what the load. I would take it in and tell them your problem. They'll prolly do what they did for me. Good luck

No kidding! Wow, I have the same freakin' problem with my '01 Supercrew. I registered to this site because of it. The dealer and I are going nuts trying to figure it out.
You've described my situation exactly...and I mean exactly. I get this wicked-**** vibration above 50 mph. After it starts, it generally keeps doing it until I go really slow or stop. It doesn't always do it and it never starts at speeds lower than 50. The catch is that it is very intermittant...maybe 3-4 days between doing it. When it does it, though, it'll knock out your fillings. I was beginning to think drive-line, but things like that usually are not intermittant.
I have noticed that my e-brake sticks...but that usually is noticeable right away. I've rotated/balanced my wheels and it still does it. I've replaced my lower ball joints and it still does it. I've been almost going mad trying to figure this out.
I never thought of the e-brake...however, I just recently started using it quite often. I'll stop and see if it continues.
Has it done it again?

I have a semi slight vibration anywhere from 50-75 mph doesnt do it all the time but sometime the bed will start shaking pretty good. My friend told me to get my tires road forced balanced. Whatever that is? On my right rear tire it has 6 weights on it I thought that was alot anyways Ive used my ebrake maybe 3 times this wouldnt be it would it?

However your friend is right. My suggestion is to get them dynamically balanced.
i had the same problem when i got my new rims and tires, the steering wheel would shake and when I looked in my side view or rear view I could see my bed looking like it was going to vibrate off the frame when I got from 50-70 MPH. I took it to get road forced balanced and everything is fine now.
