2" or 2.5" AS with factory 2" block rear

i am either installing the AS 2" or 2.5" in front with the factory 2" block spacer in the rear. the question is, do i really need to change the factory shocks to a 4wd shock? and do i need to worry about my drive shaft angle?

i finally found all the ford part numbers for the 4wd spacer and u-bolts and shocks. lot cheaper at fordparts.com. i also have the numbers for the front tow hooks on a 4wd i am going to add to my 2wd if anyone wants them.

I am not sure about the shocks, i know you do not need them with just a leveling kit, because i have an AS 2.5" in front with no issue and i do not think you need them in the rear with the blocks. If you do a large amount of off-roading you may need the shocks, so when at extreme angles you dont bottom the stock ones out, but i think for regular driving the 2wd shocks are fine, i am sure wandell will have better insight on this topic than i do, but i figured i would try to help you out. Also, when you do get done with everything let me know how it goes. I have a 2wd as well and have done the 2.5 up front and am trying to decide on the 2" blocks or a 2" add-a-leaf in the rear along with a fabtech 6" kit. So i will be curious as to how it looks when you do the level and blocks, i am thinking it will be looking like a leveled 4x4 which would be sweet for a couple hundred bucks! Hope this helps and good luck!

i dont do any off roading, but at the hunting camp, there is one sharp, steep incline i have to go up. stock 4wd shocks, and i am talking about rear only, are only $35 from fordparts.com, but i dont want the stiff ride like a 4wd. i guess i will just try it and see what happens. i should be able to order all the parts first of next week when i get all my bday $ in on sat. so hopefully in about 2 weeks i should have some b4 and after pics on here.
