8" rize questions

8" rize questions

im looking at doinf the 8" rize lift but im unsure what all is needed.will i need new drive shafts?if i stayed with the 6" would that cut down on the extras like shafts ect ?

everything is included in the kit u dont need a new drive shaft.

it is recommended that you get a new drive shaft but it is not needed, and the 6" and 8" kits are the same accept for the strut extension so the 6" kit is the same way.

i beleive its cause it puts the stock CV shafts at greater angles and will cause them to wear out prematurly, thats how it was with my 04 ranger anyway.

since i have the kit i would know, rize does not recomend a new rear drive shaft the angles are fine as u can see in my gallery. but just like any other suspension lift for the new fords if u do alote of highway driving in 4wheel drive at speeds over 40 mph u might want to change the front driveshaft. at speeds over 40mph in 4x4 u might feel a little vibration. thats all suspension lifts the stock front driveshaft is a piece of crap design from the factory.

Ya thats what i thought, but isnt the front driveshaft still spinning even if you arent in 4wd?

no nothing on the front spins when not in 4 wheel drive. on some other makes and models like my old toyota the front axles would always spin, but on these new fords everything is dead in the front untill 4x4 is engaged.

well i dont know but i know my ranger was like that cause the drive shaft always spun. but thats good that our trucks arent like that! lol

ya your right on that thats the only different thing but from the prices we got they were slightly different, im not sure by how much cause i cant remember at the moment lol
