i think the difference between the two in price is only like $150.... so not much. i got quoted at http://www.extrememotorsports.biz/liftkits.html for $2750 but thats for the 8''

Do you have some way of disengaging the axle shafts from the wheels? Last time I looked, they didn't have unlocking hubs like the older trucks do. Jack up the front of your truck and spin a tire and you will see that your axle shafts are spinning all the time.

yes in your truck they do but not in the new f 150's they do not spin trust me. it is a vacume operated hub that automatically engages when u put it in 4 wheel drive. i think i know more about what my truck has but thanks .

My understanding of the Rize 8" inch kit is that is the same as everyother 6 inch kit but It also ahs a 2 inch spacer or a leveling kit incorporated into the lift kit. Wouldn't adding the spacer exceed the angel in which the cv joints could run at safely? Also the fabtech kit and a spacer(I would never do this) would be signifigantly cheaper than the rize kit. Is there some major part to the rize kit that I am missing. Thanks again Jon

first off there is know two inch spacer its strut extention that goes on the bottom of the strut (coilover) the angle is not a big deal rize makes a solid product havent herd a compaint, ask anyone it works great.the difference between the 6'' and the 8'' is the length of the strut extension. the price diff. is beacause.... well just look at the two rize looks beautiful! not to bag on fabtech but rize has a great product and its well worth the price diferance! o and the spacers on top of the fabtech is not a big deal there are a few people on this site who have the fabtech with spacers and it worked out fine if you dont have enough money thats a great option.

i dont want to be rude i do agree that the angles are perfect but the subframe drop (were the lower controll arms mount) is the same for the 6'' and the 8'' they just use a longer strut exstention. thats what i was told when i went to look into buying the rize thats also y the price is the same. agian im not saying the angles arent right.

i have never heard that before because if that was the case then the cv angles would almost be in an upward angle if that makes any sense. why would they use an 8" subframe for a 6" kit? ya know what i am saying?

ya i know. ok so this is what the guy told me since im no sure if i wanted the 6'' or the 8'' kit he said i could buy the either one cause the subframe was the same for both just the strut exstensions were different and if i want to i could change the lift later i could simply by, buying a different size strut exstention. he also said that rize is supposed to to offer the different size exstension very soon so you can change it. so i dono thats just what i was told and ive heard it a couple other time on this site. but any way im going to contact rize and find cause im sick of arguing!! hahaha o and by the way your truck is beautiful!!!

hmm...i believe ya i just think it is strage to use an 8" subframe on a 6" kit. i just measured my subframe and it brings the lower controle arms down 8.5" i cant see why they would use that on a 6" kit doesnt make sense to me. oh well good thing i have the 8" kit

Hey 01Screw... I was curious, I own a 06 supercrew lariat 4X4. I went outside and had my son drive the truck slowly towards me. The axles are turning and when I lay down and look underneath the front drive shaft is turning also when the truck moves forward. I do have the vaccum operated 4X4 system and the hubs lock to axle when engaged. I'm not sure if this is what you are asking... "The front axles do turn and the front drive shaft turns when my truck is NOT in 4wheel drive". I just observed this on my 06 F-150. BoB
