Question Leaf Springs or Shocks

Can anyone out there tell me if I can actually stick 1999 f-250 shocks on a 1999 f150 will it match up and have same amount of clearance...I tow a boat and my Race car and when i put the weight on there it does the dip. I wondered if shocks from a f250 would help this or if I should get some Helper springs for the leaf springs or if I should get new leaf springs that are more heavy duty. Can anyone offer some info on this please?

Shocks don't do anything to keep the vehicle from sagging. Shocks don't carry any load.

There are a lot of different items available for you. I would stay away from add-a-leafs as they will make your truck stiff when it is empty. You should start by browsing the towing forum and ask the question over there. The could probably make specific recommendations for you.

overload

for occasional hauling and towing, look at the Monroe sensitrack load adjusting shocks, they have coil springs over the shocks, they work very well

overload

I bought mine at Advanced Auto for $102 for the pair, a bit pricey, but for me I needed new shocks anyway, and a decent pair of heavy duty shocks are almost half that, so spending another $50 or so for overload capability was cost effective, at least for me.
I have a 97 F150 XL 4.6 5 speed 4x4 ext cab 8 foot box, it raised the back a little, and made it a little stiffer, but not as much as I thougt it would, (a short box may feel even stiffer)
I've loaded it good a couple times, (I'm guessing 12-1500 lbs) and towed my camper once, (without the weight dist bars) it definatly helps the sag and handleing. compared to std heavy duty shocks.

Good luck

what i did was ad airbags on the leaf springs. you can have the same ride empty by letting the air out. when you put a load on the truck just add air to the bags.
