4wd to 2wd

i was just wondering how hard it would be to turn a 4wd 97 f150 in to a 2wd. does this involve mush work or can you do some simple modifications. i was wondering because i want to install a long travel lift kit for my truck and it is much easier to do on a 2wd ather than a 4wd. thanks for the help.

Pay to have it put on because with the price of doing a swap and the time to do it, your lift could be put on the 4wd truck.

Keep the lever in 2HI

Seriously though, lets see.....
2wd lower control arms, coils, upper mounts (coil and shocks) upper control arm.........and a whole lot of other stuff.
Im not sure that the parts would bolt on then once you got them. Im not sure if the frame is the same up front or not.

I might be able to get a look at a buddys 4x4 and compare it with my 2x4 and see if it looks like an easy bolt on part. Im guessing not though.

Well how about if you just trade in your truck for a new 2wd truck and go from there. Think about it. The economics is logical and then you have a new truck to enjoy.

Like to two above me said, it would be easier and more economical to just sell yours and buy a 4x2 in that same price range. You will be able to get a much newer 4x2 for about the same price that you can sell your 4x4 for.
