Liftin 2wd

Hey everyone,
im thinking about getting an F150 2wd, but i really don't like the droopy front. It sounds like spindles is the best way to go. I don't want to lift it real high, just to make it level, or a little higher in the front. I don't want to raise the back either. How much should l lift the front? Are spindles the best way to go? Is it something i can do myself (Im pretty good with cars)? If anyone has pics of a similar project that would awesome. Thanks

you need about 2.5" to be level. so 3" spindles would do it just nice. they are pretty easy to do too

3'' spindles

I got spindles on my truck and I love them. They are easy to install.

Thanks for the input. Since it sounds pretty easy, i think i'll be getting a F150 soon, and lifting it the next day! One more question, can you use the stock wheels? Supercrew, do you have a picture you could post?

go and search for Daystar Coil Spacers on ebay, I just picked up a set for $58 shipped. They will raise the front by 1.5", which when I measured the front and rear, should make it just about level.

I think you might be happy with 3" spindle lift and 1.5" in back (add a leaf or blocks). Installation is not too hard - do a search on this forum and you will find more info. Procomp is a safe bet.

You can use stock wheels but going with bigger tires looks better.

I have some before/after pics on my gallery (link below).

Goodluck StangMD hope you find a nice truck.

Dasmaz- I got a complete ProComp kit (spindles, shocks and add-a-leaf) from 4wheelparts.com I think it was about $650.

You will have to get it re-aligned. When I put on my spindles, I just eyeballed it, adjusted the tie rod ends enough to get it close, and then drove to the alignment shop.

Be sure they center the steering wheel.

I would go with FABTECH spindles. They come in 2.5 inch and adding them on to your 2wd will level it perfectly without having to add anything in the back. I would recommend fabtech spindles any day over pro-comp. Fabtech is a company that specializes in 2wd trucks and the quality of their products is uncountable times better than pro-comp. I dont recommend coil spacers due to safety issues. i would trust inch thick cast iron over 1 1/2 thick rubber any day. No aftermarket accessory shop that i know of will install coilspacers on a vehicle due to safety issues. that should give you some idea of how safe they are. You can buy the Fabtech spindles at any 4 wheel parts wholesalers or go to fabtechmotorsports.com. Hope i could help.
