Question New truck owner with suspension questions

I have owned sports cars all my life and I dont know anything about truck suspension. What are the basic mods I need for my 01 Screw? I have the Lariat with 17" wheels. I would improve the ride and life it a little without buying bigger tires. Advice Please!!!

Is it a 4x4 or a 4x2? Big difference in suspensions.

My 2 cents worth

If you're gonna stroke it, POWERSTROKE IT!!!

The ride in the SCrew isn't that bad. It's different than a "sports car". Try lowering the back with shackles (inexpensive solution) and see if the ride "improves" by lowering the center of gravity a little. You've got a 4800#+ truck now, it's going to be a little different than any car. I've found mine to ride quite nicely on highway trips - a little rough on the streets in the city. Good luck.

Cool

I got Rancho RS9000 adjustable shocks and a matching set of front and back Hellwig anti-sway bars. I installed them one at a time and evaluated each one for several weeks. By far, the biggest improvement was the front anti-sway bar. It dwarfs the factory one 1&1/8" vs. 1&7/16". For such a heavy vehicle it really zings around now.
