Post Front End Levelling

I am interested in levelling the front end of my 2000 F-150 Extended Cab to get that "4x4" look. Any suggestions on the least expensive/least difficult options. I would like to maintain ride quality if possible. I know I am a poser, but I think it looks much better, especially since I am planning on installing a new PIAA Air Dam kit with some running lights. Anyone ever install one of those? I'd like to get someone's opinion.
Thanks

if you want the 4x4 look, get 3" lift spindles for the front, fabtech makes them, you can get them just about anywhere, get 2" lift blocks for the rear. Then you will be the same suspension hieght as a 4x4, you might want to upgrade your tires and wheels at the same time. 4x4's usually come with 265/70r17 tires on 17" wheels or 255/70r16 tires on 16" wheels. But you can go even bigger with the fabtech lift. To really fill up your wheel well, you should get either a 285/75r16 tire or a 305/70r16 tire, both are the same diameter but the 305 is wider by about an inch. Your choice, they both will work. Good luck!

They also make a 2" coil leveling kit for the ext. cab only. Simple and cheap. Go to the Fabtech website to get any info about the different lifts.

yea, I wasn't gonna mention those because fabtech admitted that with that setup, you can't get the truck to allign properly. Guess it's a matter of priorities, driving normally or looking good, the choice is yours.

Thanks for the info. Good to know. When I was calling around Fabtech didn't mention that to me. I decided to go with ProComp 3" spindles. Just need to save a little more so I can get the tires to go along with it. They told me that it would not change the tracking of the front tires. Fabtech did mention that their spindle lifts move the front tires out 1" to 1 1/2". Once again, thanks r0land.

I know this because I did it my self in the business for over 20 years. As far as the fabtech front leveling kit which is 2 in. and actually raised mine 2 7/8 to be exact I had no problems aligning mine with the proper cam bolt kit. 98 ext.cab v-6 4.2 Long list of mods 203 rwhp on in house dyno.

Dagger33, where did you get the trailmaster kit and how much. If you did the install yourself , how hard was it? My friends put lifts on jeeps all the time and said they would do the install for me. Thanks for the info.

I own the FABTECH 2" leveling kit and haven't had problems with the alignment. This kit is one of the cheapest ways to get the front end height you are looking for. JUst add the spindle kit later if you are not high enough.

cage, It took me about 4 hours but thats with a lift, air tools. As far as where to get it I'm not much help there. I was checking on fabtech when the guy at a local parts store told me about the kit. I think it just came out. As far as price i got it for 325.

Thanks again. Couple of more questions though. What size tires are you running? Also if you are running bigger tires, did you get the speedometer recalibrated? Somebody told me they can adjust the computer for bigger tires on my 2000. Don't know if it is true but worth looking into.

I have 265 75 16s on the stock rims, they are a 1 1/2 higher than the 255 70 16s the truck came with. I havent seen much diffrence with the spedo, but there probly is.
