Post Anybody used coil spacers?

I want to add a 1" or 1.5" coil spacer, just wondering what people think of them and if anybody has used them

Got'm love. Didnt do much to the ride at all. Use the daystar polyeurethane ones (80 bucks) better quality than some of the others...the rubber ones might work as well. Use the ones that go on top of or below the coil not the inbetween ones.

I have been using coil spacers for 3 months now with no problems. They are the cheap Autozone in-between spacers. The ride hasn't suffered at all but they look ugly. They will come out when i get new tires. With my lift i should only have 33" tires but i got 35" tires cheap so i put in the spacers.

thanks guys, I will try a set of 1" daystars probably. Do they mount on the top or bottom of the spring?

the daystars go on top...so they wont come out....the in between ones have been known to fly out which is kind of unsafe...the spacers look fine they almost dont show...check out some posts by me ealier i have pictures of them installed.

Question

Did adding the coil spacers affect the alignment? I've got a 2WD and am looking to pick up the front a little....Thx.

Well, I posted a topic about this same thing but I guess nobody wanted to reply at the time. I was thinking about getting the 2" daystar spacers. What I was wondering is, if I put 2" in the front, would I have to get new control arms? I talked to a guy at 4WP who said that 1.5" is probably the biggest I can go without having to get anything new, but Daystar doesn't have any 1.5" spacers. What's the deal? Anyone know?

I got my daystar 1.5inchers from 4wp....they gave 1.5 inches of lift....but the spacer may actually only be inch thick from where the coil sits to where the top of the spacer rests on the seat. Someone did a mathemtical post explaining why you get about 50% more lift than the height of the spacer...something to do with similar triangles...Im not a big geometry buff so I couldn't tell you why but just that it is. So they may just be selling the one inch spacers but they give you 1.5inches of lift...check that out with the store or daystar. I got my truck aligned after I put them in. They added the cam bolts. It was 100 bucks for the alignment and cams from 4wp. The spacer was 80. The install was like 200 i think. I don't think the install is that hard...I just dont have tools (im 18 so no money for them)...G Patricio did the install a month back I believe so check out some posts by him, he did the daystar install. And I believe that 2inches is where you need the a-arms...i had a friend who got the 2inch leveling springs and it was able to get it aligned. I've heard of people doing it but only at heavy alignemnt places.

I was the one who gave the mathematical reply a while back. Haven't had any problems with my spacers, thus haven't been perusing the Suspension board in awhile. Do a search on my user ID in this forum and you'll find those posts.

As for another update on my spacers, I have the cheap rubber ones from JCWhitney. As explained in one of those other posts they are overall 1.5" tall, but have a grove that the spring sits in that puts the overall height at 1.25". I got 2 full inches of lift when I first installed the spacers, but they seemed to have settled a bit now. I would guess I've got about 1.75" or so of lift, haven't measured lately, but the problem with the shock topping out at every little hole in the road has settled itself down somewhat. Still looks good and my truck sits pretty much level now...

I have a set of Fabtech control arms for sale in the classifieds if you guys are interested (these would allow you to go beyond 2" of lift.)
