Yeah. Paint your spindles before the install, they rust out very quick and look awful. Get new grease seals for the spindles.
Also install the spindles first, if your truck has a lot of rake, you may not need the blocks in the rear.

Hey Roberto,
Sharp looking Rig! Where did you get those spindles from if I may ask?
And do they come as a kit or is this sort of a home made lift set-up. I haven't seen to many choices for my 2001 in the lift dept. so your set up is looking good. The pictures are great to. I hope I can bug you a little in the future for some more info about that set-up.
Thanks for sharing

Helloe:
You are looking at very old pictures. I bought my spindles exactly one year ago, at 4 wheel parts in Austin. At the time, Procomp was the only company making spindles for the F150 and they were expensive, I paid I think 575.00 for the spindles and paid separate for the shocks and the rear blocks. Since then, several companies started making the spindles (Procomp, Fabtech, Rancho, AIM) and they are a lot cheaper.
visit www.4wheelparts.com to get an idea of the prices. Also, take into account that a good lift consists of three parts:
1. The lift
2. The bigger tires and rims
3. Ring and Pinion set.
When you make your budget for the lift, make sure to include all three things.
When I went from 255-70-16 OEM tires to 285-75-16's I couldn't believe how bad my mileage got and the very noticeable lack of power. So I got a superchip and though it makes huge difference in performance, the engine still was not operating in the right powerband (besides the speedometer being off)
still using a lot of gas until I decided to change the rear end gears. I went from 3.55 to 4.10 and I am very satisfied with it.
The speedo is back to normal, and 70 MPH equals 2000 RPM, running very sweet.
My last tank of gas was 20 gal at 370 miles in the odometer, which is about 18.5 MPG. Before the gear change 20 GAL lasted 280 miles. Big difference. Tomorrow (May 20) makes exactly one year with my lift and absolutely no problems. Another item that I added recently is a steering stabilizer and it makes a huge difference from before. I tried to get a dual setup (look for DAVENSA's pics on his setup) But nobody locally wanted to make it. I intend to make it myself, I picked up a used, small welding machine for the purpose.
Sorry for the long post. I hope it helps.

Are gears hard to change? I would like to swap my gears for a 4.10.

Yes. You need access to a hydraulic press because the pinion gear bearing is press fit. You also need gages to measure the backlash and a micrometer for the shims and a torque wrench for the bolts. If you are not mechanically inclined or trained, it is best to have a shop do it.
I did mine, because the local shops didn't want to do it, but if I had to do it all over again, I would find a shop in Austin and I would rather pay 400.00 (parts and labor) than do it myself.
