What I've learned from your posts is that crap happens. Even to really good people like yourself.

Buy another brand next time.

Easy lisicag - you have a right to be upset but this isn't his fault or yours. It's a shame this happened but attacking anyone here does not solve a thing.
Does anyone else have that "deja vu" feeling besides me? I remember how some other posters spent more time attacking fellow members than working WITH us to come up with solutions!
I don't know if anyone here has an answer BUT if we start getting on each other's case nobody will be willing to post problems OR solutions. Then where will this site end up? I think this site is pretty darn good - let's keep it that way.

Unhappy

So, re-reading your tirade again it seems as though you are an automotive engineer?? How else can you claim it's a "design flaw"? Horsehockey!!! If it were a "design flaw" then thousands of Ford t-arms would be breaking all over the place. And, lisicag, I was genuinely sympathetic when you first posted, tho' I didn't fully agree with you. But I gotta tell you, after reading a lot of your subsequent posts, personal attacks and death wishes to our families, you need to f**k off, move on and shut up!

Hey Sun Dogcrap Why don't you get the F**K off of this message board. I don't need your sympathy you North Carolina hillbilly. I don't pretend to be an automotive engineer but when the suspension cracks in half it is a design flaw. By the way it is a torsion "bar" not "arm". When you drive a Ford or any other vehicle with torsion bars you must have a death wish for yourself and your family.

Lisicag,
I have just one question for you. Why in the hell are you still here. you're a pathetic little whining loser. Its terrible that your truck broke, But it happens. Its a spring. Any piece of metal that is subjected to constant fatigue will sooner or later fail. its the same principles that make everyones doors crack. only when this part fails, it breaks in two because of the stress its under. get over it. pay the bill, go get a drink, and chill out. I doubt that you will find any one on this board who has a whole lot of respect for you after you wished death upon our families. So my advice is that you get lost, sell your truck, and walk every where. That way you wont be inconvenienced by repairs to a vehicle. However, I realize you will not do this. Instead, you will reply with some colorful remarks, further proving your lack of tact, class, and judgement. You are a pathetic human being lisicag

Respectfully,
BigBunnell

LMFAO!! What a hoot, lisicag. You're right, of course! You don't need my sympathy (not that I offered it). You just need a life. Have you found a lawyer yet that'll take your case against Ford? Have you created a website so all those "thousands" of other folks with broken TB's can report to? Maybe the f150online webmaster cab create a separate place on this site so all those "thousands" of folks can register their broken TB's!! Let me explain the point, lisicag, because i know you're hardly intelligent enough to figure it out yourself: Put up or Shut up. Do something or GO AWAY! All sorts of nice folks have offered you questions and alternatives out of their interest. All you've done is badmouth us and wish our families dead. Time to ACT, Bozo, or buzz off!

I feel your pain... I was 1200 miles away from home when my torsion bar broke in a parking lot. I had to extend my vacation for 4 days while the part was shipped accross the country to the dealership. My truck was out of warranty and didn't even questin whether they should cover it. It costed me $250.

The fact of the matter is torsion bars do break. Whether Ford, GM, or Chrysler they are made of very hardened steel that is under tremendous strain and is very brittle. A blow to that bar from a rock or anything will likely cause a hairline fracture that will down the road mean failure.

Be lucky that you were not off road when it happend... And you can still limp it to the shop avoiding an extra tow bill!

Man, this sure was sad. This guy needs a life. Lets review. He posts, says ford is crap, and its all fords fault. We question his claims, and now he wants our wife and children to go off a cliff. Who the heck does this guy think he is? I just hope the message boards will calm down again, without the f**king losers like lisicag. Lets just get back into the old routine of helping and being kind and considerate.

Hopefully this will be my last post on this subject. As far as getting off this board, I will continue to voice my opinion even if it is negative. I believe that in this country that is a constitutional right. This is a hot subject and I believe I have exposed a defective and dangerous part. I hope I have given ample warning to all of you.As far as filing a law suit against Ford I can't believe it would be of any use considering the cost.If someone is killed or permanently injured I hope a lawsuit is brought against Ford to find out who is at fault.

I work for a large fleet leasing company. we have about 13000( yes 13 thousand ford f150 on lease ,which about 1/3 of are 4wd.
except in cases of abuse, no torsion bars have broken. one does not put on big tires and wheels, make performance mods, and then baby it around town. also things just don't break in the driveway.
please go by a dodge.....

TSB

Sorry to hear that about your TSB. But if you go with a Dodge, you will have more than TSB problems, try (trans.) for one...
Again sorry to hear it, but don't knock off on Fords, try other means to get it fixed, Have you tought about a sport TSB? Now would be a good time.

Brad
