Post To kenster (pop sound or thunk sound.)

I had the the same problem with my ford.I found that it was coming from the rearend and driveline. my cracking sounded each time i made a right turn into or backing out of a drive way or a sharp turn it made a cracking sound or thunk sound. Found i had to re-align the rearend with the driveline. My rearend was pointing a little downwards out of alignment with the driveline loosen the all U-bolts and rocked the truck backward i believe by moving the rear tire. I use a degree meter on the rearend which you can buy for a couple of bucks intill it was the same degree as the driveline retighten all U-bolts. After that it made little thunk bearly hear it. I then replaced both universal joint and that eliminated the problem all together.

I hope this helps with your problem sound very simular to my problem good luck

hmiz, thanks for the reply. First time anyone has mentioned this solution. (I think) but it makes sense. Do you feel this problem could lead to damage or is it more just a nuisance?
