Question bodylift option for those who have them

Was wondering if ya'll had to do it over again would you still go the bodylift route.
Looking to lift my '97 ORP but have not decided what way.

What draw backs have you encountered?

Sorry for questions but before I invest more into truck I want to know what is the best way to go.

I have no regrets, and I would install one again. I have encountered no drawbacks that I can think of.

Thumbs up

I just got done installing my P.A. body lift. Heck yeah I would do it over. I don't do any real serious offroading (play in the mud occaisionally and go hunting and camping) so all I needed was to be able to clear larger tires. At 130.00 as opposed to 1300.00 for a suspension lift, the body lift was a no brainer. The only thing I would do differently is wait until I could have a friend help me with the install (18 hours by myself.) I say go for it.

I did not install the extension. I like the shorter shifter. I have had no problems shifting into 4 low and the shifter has not gome out of gear on me as of yet.

No drawbacks, no regrets. I would do it again but I want to clarify something.

I am looking to lift it as much as I can and still be able to use it as my daily driver. Since we only had (at the time I started all this project) the 4" lift from various companies, combining it with the body lift was the only alternative to get it really tall (like 7" or 8"). Now that we have lifts like the Whiplash maybe I would go just with an 8" lift and work out only the suspension.

I know they are expensive but I was going to do it anyway. The body would be in the stock position (in reference to the cab), no relocating the exhausts systems, not extending this or that and all those time consuming tasks. In summary, with all this new tall lifts around I would go directly to the suspension to get the height I am looking for.

If you are looking for something in the neighborhood of 3" ( no off roading and a budget in crisis) go with the body lift. You will be happy.

If anyone has any information on how they did their manual transfer case I would appreciate that (for the bodilift). I have herard some people have added the extension and others who have said you don't have to. Also has anyone had any problems withtheir transfer case (manual) kicking out of gear after installing the bodilift? Thanks
