If you go to the website www.pgseriestrucks.com they list a 4" lift kit for the 97-00 F150 truck by RCD.

I would like to see some pictures when someone gets it installed. I would also like to know first hand experience of how it compares to other manufacturers.

Question

REGULATOR

I gave a local 4x4 shop RCD's #. The owner was trying to persuade me to go with one of the big four, but after talking to the RCD guys he told me yesterday he can't wait to install the kit, because it sounds like the best one.

Price ????? I just told him what I could get it for from macromotive or National tire & wheel. He said he could at least match that, but hopefully he can do a little better. All he has told me is that it is a pretty expensive kit. (around $1450).

That Sounds about right on the price, I wonder how hard it is to install. San Angelo dosen't have a single 4wd shop that IU can find ( other than an old guy who sells used jeeps) But thats the price you pay being in the boonies.
I wish I could afford the solid axle swap
kit fromn Fabritech ( 6 , 8 , or 10 inch lift with DANA 44 front axle) but a decent axle cost almost as much as a gear swap with the IFS. let alone the price of the kit

Hi just a little info on rdc. There in Spring Valley CA. They are in the old plant that was manufacturing Explorer/Procomp. We have a lot of off road shops in San Diego. Most carry the kit. I have seen it up close and on a truck, it is very similar to other drop down kits. But I would say it is very high quality and the shops say nothing bad about the kit.

Big D 98,
If you get a copy of the instruction sheet do you think you could email me a copy? I would really like to see how this thing is put together.
Thanks

Well, I dropped my truck off today to have the RCD 5" (Instructions say 5", while no where in the instructions does it say to alter factory torsion bar settings) kit and Performance Accessories 3" body lift installed. Should get it back on Tues.

COPE5034,
I'll get my copy back from the shop tomorrow and scan it. I'll also scan the little brochure they sent me.(Doesn't say much, mostly pictures)

Cope5034,
Couldn't Find second set of instructions, will have them on monday. Do you have a fax? That might be easier.

Squanto804,

hey BIG_D_98,
why did are you going with a 315/75 tire when you could have fit a much bigger size like a 36x14.50. And if it was because you wanted an a/t style tire why not go with the 37x12.50 BFG A/T. I was just wondering.

JDm,

I chose the 315's for a few reasons, first because they were ~$100 per tire cheaper than most 36x14.5's, that's not counting the buy 3 get 1 free. I didn't even know that BFG A/T's come in 37x12.5-16. I'm also trying to keep as much tire as possible inside the fender well, and retain some decent gas mileage.

Checking the progress on my truck I realized that the lateral compression struts are not polished like they say, and show. I'm on the phone with them first thing on Monday to find out why. The drop blocks are really cool looking, along with the polished sway bar links.

If you can send me you Email address I'll get you a fax number. Thanks I appreciate the information you are providing. How did they set your steering system up? I noticed there wasn't anything mentioned in their flyer about steering mods.

There arent 37x12.50 BFG's for 16" wheels. They just came out with the 37x12.50's for 17" wheels, but I''ve seen on similar posts that they are very, very expensive. But in my opinion, wouldnt 12.5" be way too skinny looking on a tire that is 37" tall?
