Rear End Bouncing
Maybe I should mention the front coils to my dealer because I am pretty sure that the squeek is coming from the left front.oh well, no matter what, I get those misaligned leaf springs replaced.

This message board is so big I get lost sometimes.
OE812, do you have a part no. for the dampening bar?
I lifted 2" overall and plan on going with a semi-permanent ballast in the tail once I figure out my various options.
The tonneau helped a little.

I got the part number from Indyfan on this posting https://www.f150online.com/f150board...ML/000327.html

I spoke with the people at parts@fordpartsonline.com about P/N F85Z 17E834 AA for the dampening bar. They said it does come up as a valid P/N but they cannot confirm the vehicle effectivety. It weighs 36lbs, cost is $22.50 + $10 S&H, list price is $30. I'm leary about ordering because I have some concerns since it is a special order and cannot be returned. 1. Will it fit my vehicle, and 2. If it is only 36 lbs will it be effective. What does everyone think? They are checking to see if they can find out more about the dampening bar.

I as well as everyone have the same problem. my question do any of you have a 3.5 suspension lift? I do and it still is bouncy...when I have a extra 100lbs or so in the rear it gets much better. Will the dampening bar work here or is there somthing else?

Mine squeeks, but no lean, And the squeek could probably be solved by some lithium grease spray.
Tim and OE812, Keep forgetting to ask about the Damp bar, just bought lower ball joints to go in next week for $50 extra labor when I get my 3.5" springs put in. Still interested though. I was riding around with one of the large floor jacks from sears yesterday and the bouncing was pretty minimal. I would guess 100-200lbs would be a good load weight for "no butt hop"
Silverback, I have the 2" coils now. Going to 3.5" next week. I was really having a tough time with the handling, especially the feel of the steering. I mean it was like both ends of the truck were hopping all around. Until I installed a 2" add-a-leaf (Made it a little butt hi with the 2" front coils). Should be perfect with the 3.5's. I'll let you know how the 3.5's work with the 2" add-a-leaf after next week. The 1 1/2" add-a-leaf are supposed to be the smoothest of the different sizes. If you feel a little nose high, then maybe the 1.5 add-aleafs would complete it for ya. For some strange reason it really balanced out the suspension. Just felt "correct" after that, before the add-a-leafs it felt squirly. Can't really explain why, but as long as it works.

I agree with 98SCREAMER about the Roadmaster Active Suspension. I put one on my truck and it made a world of difference in how it rode and handled. They have a toll free number which is 1-800-398-5036.
What year/model is your truck and what did you pay for the Roadmaster Active Suspension? I sent them an e-mail for a quote and they quoted the MK11(X) kit at $198.00 + tax + shipping. Seems a little pricey, but if it works, I may try it. Thanks for the info.

My pro-comp add-a-leafs were only $100 out the door with tax installed. Just one option. $100.
Any size, 1.5, 2, 2.5, 3, 3.5
4 wheel part, burbank, ca
$30 leaf
$70 labor
I initially asked about the active suspension and the guy behind the counter shook his head and suggested the adjustable load levelers instead. The active and load leveler are very similar.
Note: Load leveler spring can change the ride height and possibly correct the uneven thing some of ya'll got going on. Just crank it a little more on one side. Still I bet some brand new balanced leaf would come in at around the same price.

On the Roadmaster web site one guy claims he dropped .4 off his quarter time because of wheel hop. I really don't think so but does the thing make your vehicle ride smother and allow you to corner better. I don't want to lower my truck to be able to go around a corner without spilling my "beer" I mean soda.
TIM, MY TRUCK IS A 98 F150. IF YOU ORDER A KIT, GET THE MK II XF. THE MK II X WON'T FIT A 98 THRU 2000, BECAUSE OF MODIFICATIONS FORD MADE IN 1998. TRUST ME ON THIS ONE. ALSO, THE KIT WON'T LOWER YOUR TRUCK, ACTUALLY IT WILL RAISE IT ABOUT 3/4 INCH AT THE BUMPER AND YOUR RIDE WILL IMPROVE, AS WELL AS YOUR LOAD HAULING AND TOWING ABILITY. I ADJUSTED THE LEFT SPRING TIGHTER TO COMPENSATE FOR SAG AND IT LEVELED MY TRUCK.

Is it possible that the uneven balance on the truck is due to uneven pressure on the FRONT springs? Maybe try cranking the front torsion bar a bit and see if that levels it out.
