Funny, when I got my '98, it was so new, I ended up having to get '97 parts for it. (At my first oil change, the computer wouldn't accept the '98 truck model year) I hope that's the case where the '98 parts will fit the '99s. Now I hope I can find some one to do the install. Hey "99% of intelligence is knowing what you don't know" and I sure don't know how to do one, although I could figure it out, I'm not gonna "practice" on my truck!
What a pain in the (you know) I took off my running boards (to be repainted blue) and was looking in to the lifts before putting them back on because I hear that the RBs would have to be adjusted if I do a lift.
1) No one in town does body lifts.
2) Two shops each refered me to the other.
3) 3" of sus. lift cost $1,000+
4) One sug. I got: buy bigger tires.
5) Other sug. I got: Put bigger springs on her, gain= 1 1/2 in. $500. (from a spring/sus. shop-go figure!)
6) Other sug. I got: Do a sus. lift, gain= 3 in. $1500 (amazingly enough, also from a spring/sus. shop)
7) Comment rec. "Why, it's only a 2WD?"
8) Other comment "You have to lengthen the shift rods ect." (is this true for the body or sus. lift? or both? I don't even remember anymore)
I'm so confused, I don't even know my name!! I had to take off the chrome rails to make room the "fastback". My truck is naked now And I'm starting to get in touch with my femine side!
I am considering buying a couple cases of beer and inviting any one who can recognize a truck if they see one, to come over with their jacks and at least if we can't get the lift done, I won't remember why I even wanted it in the first place!
