Everything from 34KV to 345KV
I used to work for Boeing space and missile division doing development testing for the PAC-3 Missiles. While doing this I used to have to test circuit boards with 20kv submerged in a water-like fluid called florenert to keep from arching.
The first time that 20kv came after me, I took it personally and got a office job with BellSouth.

I don't envy you for working with all that voltage. That one giant arch coming towards my face was plenty enough voltage for me, and you are messing with 345kv. My hat is off to you my friend.

Be Careful - we could easily have one less trucker on our site here if you make one wrong move.

Another Engineering Type

I was a hybrid microelectronics processing engineer for 21.5 years. Then the iron wall came down and so did military defense and space contracts so now I am focused on computer networking. I teach and do consulting. My focus has been NT 3.51, NT 4.0, and now Windows 2000, clustering, and exchange 2000.

Post Hey eswartz.....

....I work on the other end of the transmission line. The main part of my job is SCADA in substations on the distribution side. I'm also an ITS certified operator so I can work the big switches if I need to!

Just a student

I'm just a lowly student in college. In my spare time though (what spare time?) I am the Campus Activities Board student assistant, a youth leader at a Baptist Church here in town, and I run a small computer assistance company. Its a packed little life, plus it's finals week this week, I am sure a lot of you know the joy of that week in college.

Career

A tad diverse, First job during High School, was working at a local Funeral Home, thought I'd like to be a Funeral Director, but the amount of hours (middle of the night) made me rethink that.

After graduating High School, I hired on with Illinois Bell Telephone Company(68) I am still with what's left of the old bell system, AT&T in Mesa, Arizona, 34 years later.

I spent 14 years as a Volunteer Firefighter/EMT in Indiana.
Spent 6 years with a local PD here in AZ as a Crime Scene Photographer. Am currently a member of the Maricopa County
Sheriff's Office as a Posse member.

My wife is an RN, working toward Nurse Practioner, and possibly a Doctor after that. Being a house-husband is possibly in my future! YeeeeeHaaa!
