Question front windshield popping noise

I have a weird question-I just traded my screw for an 03 lariat screw and on the dive home (about 400 miles away) I kept hearing a popping noise coming from the rear and front windshield-when I got it up to 70 mph. There is no vibration from the wheels-so the wheel balance is fine. I have owned 7 F150's and this has never happened. I was wondering if I put some lubrication between the galss and the interior plastic if that would help. I drive about 75000 miles per year and the noise down to Nashville today was driving me crazy. Any help would be greatly appreciated. I will post pics next week.

phil,

i know this isn't much help but here goes anyway. when brand new my '02 s-crew also made a popping noise up by the windshield when the body twisted. that noise only lasted for about a week and then completely disappeared never to return again. with a little luck maybe yours will do the same...

If it doesn't "disappear" I would get it to the Dealer for an explanation and repair. I have not had this problem with my 03.

Are you sure it is coming from the windshield

I have this god awfull loud pop on occasion but mine is definetly the glove box. I have completely taken it apart and put back together in hopes of finding the culprit. Sounds like tension builds up in a spring or something and then pops real loud. Anyone else know what is going on here?

I had a similar problem. Take your Lund bug guard off and go for a ride. I bet your problem is solved.

Thanks for everyone's help-it is not the Lund bug shield I had to leave it on my 02 trade in. It is a very repeative pop pop pop pop sound lasting several minutes at a time. It seems to get worse in a head wind. It is driving me nuts!! and the sound is also coming from the rear on occasion. I wonder if the rubber that surrounds the window can be lubricated-any help would be greatly appreciated.
