What happened was that comment you made about the South. It threw me and dufunnel into the same sack and one of us farted and dufunnel got all upset.

Raoul, you stink! :>)

I think the reason us southerners can't feel it is our big 'ol work boots are too thick and cushion all the vibration before it reaches our feet.

I haven't noticed the vibration in the gas pedal either, but my armrest vibrates sometimes. I just attributed that to the crappy General tires.

My lame-duck '97 never had any vibration, but I did suffer from a twitching/cramped calve-muscle from flooring the throttle for hours on end, give 'er take a few. Now I just ahave a cinder block propped in the pedal, works nice!

Had the same problem on mine, turned out to be an improperly mounted accelerator cable (was laying against the engine). The dealer re-routed the cable and I haven't had a vibration since.

The reason we southerners don't feel the vibration is due to the fact there are no paved roads down here. Bouncing around on gravel and through mud holes makes it difficult to feel faint vibrations.

Ain't this forum great! Don't you just love the sympathetic nature of all the combatants, oops sorry, I mean contributors. Actually between the laughs and good 'ole boy humor there was a good answer to the problem. You just had to scroll through two pages to find it. God, this is sooooo much fun it makes you want to skip work and stay here all day.

Actually, unrelated to the vibrating pedal issue, Kent has brought to the forefront one of the more serious problems one may experience in a lifetime... "the jr. high school macho posturing" problem. This illness strikes young an old alike forcing individuals to walk around excessively erect, with their chest unnaturally presented to the front of the body. Further, this illness can lead to dementia, and/or delirium, and these associated problems generally cause individuals to make poor decisions regarding any number issues addressed in life. An example would be an individual purchasing a chevrolet Avalanch and the associated delirium affecting their perception that they possess the standard in vehicular manufacturing, looks, and reliability.

Additionally related to this ailment one may experience numbness in the lower extremities which may present as an imagined vibration.

Fortunately for me I have been a sloucher my entire life.

Okay Kent, let's summarize.....

What have we learned here:
1. Some of us have more sensitive feet than others.
2. Some of us are more sensitive than others.
3. The vibration found in the gas pedal of an F-150 may be attributed to the mounting location of the cable.
4. Some of us are more sensitive to smells than others.
5. Some of us are more sensitive to spelling than others.
6. And, the best thing we've all learned is that none of us are insensitive.

Yup, that sums it up.....

Jryager,

You are absolutely correct, #6 would not get by in this house, I don't know what I was thinking.

No vibration here either.
Although a bit of vibration wouldn't be a bad thing......if it changed in pitch I'd wonder what's going on with the truck and start checking things out.
