SCrew Gas Mileage
Was your trip out down hill too?
Also, I've noticed you have the ARE lid, I guess that's worth one to two mpg, hey?
On your TG shiftkit, did you do it yourself or have it done? Which shift kit was installed, the reprogramming version with valves or just the shift kit improver that's in a small green box? I'd like to discuss your satisfaction with your tranny kit, mine is the reprogramming kit and it shifts too hard in my opinion.
Hi Daveman,
No the trip was not downhill, but I did have a 30 MPH wind at my back. I was very surprised too. The truck just seems to be running better than ever lately; maybe it's broken in at 30K miles.
I did the TG shiftkit myself - it took about 5 hours. One of the best mods so far. Installed the ADOE kit with spring and spool replacements. I only had to drill one hole, all the others where larger in diameter; I used the setting stage one. I thought the others would be to harsh. I still have the Superchips installed and works just fine for my liking. I love the ability to shift with my foot. I demonstrated this to my dad, a Ford F150 owner too, and he thought it was great! As a matter of fact, I was cruising along this morning on my way to work when I noticed a little GM Sunfire (?) coming us hard in the driving lane at 60-65MPH. I was at 55MPH at the time. By the time he got next to me, I stepped into it hard and the truck instantly down-shifted and took off like he was standing still; it shifted into overdrive and it was over before he knew what happened. I don't usually do that, but could not resist at the monment. In other words, the truck is more fun to drive as a result of TG kit install.
Have a great day! And by the way, glad to hear your transmission is fixed and ready to run!
