Pic of new ARE cap

I just got my ARE Z series cap. I looks great from afar, but closer look at the paint job and its crappy. The dealer made some scratches and the factory paint job looks bush league.

I still like the look and needed the cover. Cost me $1,400 with carpet liner and ARE website coupon.

Now I need some tires. I am thinking of Michelin's LTX M/S or BFG's. Any suggestions on where to get them cheap.

Enjoy the pic

If this does not work(directions suck) search for Bill's Silver Bullet.

I got my Nomad2 canopy used, couple years old for $1000cdn and I just priced it out to buy one from the canopy dealer. They want $2400cdn! Ha ha... what a steal. Colour matching and everything, great paint quality. I'd been looking at the classified ads for some time though.

I like the look of the cap. Doesn't look like an expedition.

Smile ARE Z Cap

supercrew1, just a heads up. I had to take mine in to have the dealer replace the rubber strip in between the glass on the driver's side. The top started flapping in the wind. They said they had a few come back with the same problem.

I also purchased the rear wiper. It helps with visibility in the rain. BUT it is a poor design because the wiper hits the top right window mount. Also, if anybody purchases the wiper tell the installer not to bother installing the washer. To be nice I will say the motor on the pump is weak. I have seen better motors on my son's toys.

Any way your truck is looking good

Thanks for the heads up.

When I picked up the truck from the dealer, one of the screens was hanging loose. The rubber seam on the crank out window had a real crappy seam.

I have yet give it a thorough tire kick. With what I have seen so far, I am definately taking it back to the dealer to make it right. I will check all the rubber seals.

As far as the window washer assembly, how much did it cost and what motor did they use?

Thanks,

Bill C.

Wiper

The kit cost 199 plus 50 buck to install it. They had some kid try to put it in ... had to take it back and get it done right. The idiot tied the wires to the bottom outside part of the frame from the back to the front. You could stand 4 feet to the side of the truck and see the wires. They ordered another washer motor and I had to go back to get that installed. I complained about the wiring and the second installer did it right.

The reason I suggest not going with washer part is the pump is way too small. It can only pump out a small trickle. If I would have know that I would have told them not to drill a hole in the cap for the washer. The wiper works good and seems to be worth the costs.

Thanks for the buck comment. It is not a 12, but 17 countable points and you can hang a ring on 21 points. I have not had it scored yet, but I will soon. Maybe it will bring a citation.
