Power rear window for Supercrew
Boy I wish the search facility was working
Last fall, someone had mentioned that they replaced thier factory rear wrindow with a power rear window. They got it from a Ford part OEM online site and was like $10-$20 more than the manual rear slider window and also came with the wiring kit....
Does anyone know the part number of this kit? Or had any experience with a power slider in the screw?
I have an original Gen I Lariat Screw and power rear windows were not offered then... not sure if they are offered now
but I want one...

I have a Gen 1 also, and added the power-slider from CR Laurence. LUV IT!
I rarely used the slider previous to this mod, now I use it all the time.
Definately worth the $$$

FyrDawg2,
Question, Questions, Questions
I found the crlawrence web site but it is limited... and they do not say what the kit includes....
Did you install the kit?
What comes with it? Intructions? wiring? Control Buttons? et al.
What was the aproximate cost?
Regards,

The CR Laurence kit comes with everything you need and can be found if you search around the net for $300-325. The switch that comes with the kit (at least the one I saw in person) does not match the power pedal switch. You can get one of those from a Ford dealer for about $20.
I had my power-slider installed by an auto glass place that had experience with these units. After the job was finished, I asked for the installation instructions that came with the kit. Upon review, I could have done it myself and saved a few hundred bucks. It took their technician almost the whole day to put it in, though.
Moral of the story: Next time, I'd do it myself.

I was looking into puttin' one in also but opted for the manual (CR Laurence) after the glass shop encouraged me not to. These guys had put allot of windows in (auto & manual) and said that had a ton of problems with the power ones (binding, etc.). I figured that I could control my back passenger windows for air flow from the drivers seat so why bother with the extra expense. I only wanted the window to open so I can haul 10 - 12 foot stuff. Just my $0.02.

I have the power slider
I have the power slider from the factory that I ordered for my new truck. It cost me $245. If I wanted the dealer install it it was going to cost me about $450.00 plus tax. Way to steep for me.
