Ford Truck Service CD, this is where to go and get it.
Guys/Gals,
I've got a CD that has the entire 2001 truck line service procedures, electrical schematics and computer diagnostic trouble codes on it.
Here is where it can be purchased. It's at Ebay but I did a search for you and provided a link to make it one click away.
Good luck and my advice is that if you like detailed info and like to do your own repairs, then get it, if you don't work on your own truck then leave it up to your dealer to handle your concerns/issues.
Here's the link:

Good luck folks and enjoy the CD, it's worth every penny, no matter how you manage to get it, whether it be from Ebay or someone you trust. Send me an email if you've got questions.
S'crewLoose,
Hey hero...in case you read this, thanks man...you've been a great help.

Hero, Me? Damn Dave, I've been called lots of things but Hero.............If helping out a friend or just doing something nice is being a hero...there are tons of them right here on this board
S'crewLoose/Ed,
Okay, maybe hero wasn't the exact word I should've used...maybe life saver would've been better, hey...I just wanted to make sure credit was given where credit was due.
Thanks man,
BTW, what's the weather like up there? I heard that you guys on the North East coast got blind sided again, is that correct?

When I hear stories like that, I'm glad I live down south where cold is a four letter cuss word.
I hate cold weather and it would suit me just fine if it never got below 60° ever again, keep dreaming right?
You got pictures of that mess you call ice?

I have the car and truck cd's for the 2000 model year and they are great. I wish the GUI was refined a little more but I guess I can live with it.
BTW: I purchased them from Ebay as a set for $35.

I have looked at these CD's before but have been hesitant about buying one. I was curious about their origination and why these people would have so many to sell. Some are stated to be original and others do not say. Are a lot of these just copies (illegal)or obtained in a questionable manner? A service CD would be great, but why would anybody sell a legitimate original for such low prices. I saw one a while back that included 2002's, but there was not one bid on any of his approximately 15 CD's (various Ford models)even though the feedback was good. I checked later and it did not sell. Can anybody shed a little more light on these service CD's?
rdh,
I understand your concerns about software. I'm not sure whether discs sold on ebay are legit or not, can't really tell. It's just a disc with information on it, its not like its proprietary or takes programmers to write, it's just information. If your conscience is bothering you, then you can check out the official website of Helm, Inc. that a car dealer will tell you about if you want manuals for your late model Ford truck. I think the paper back version is $180 and the CD is $230. Here's the web site link which takes you right to the 2001 Ford truck manuals.

The CD's sold on Ebay are original OEM service discs, they are given in bulk to blue oval dealers, who in turn give them to thier service techs. Everytime there is an update they are given a whole new CD or set of CD's. They are then, either the techs to do as they wish, or they turn them into a manager that funnels them to someone who sells them. That is how it was explained to me when I inquired about them from a friend who works at a dealer....(not Ford)
