Window (rain) deflectors

Hey again all! I am wondering about the OEM window deflectors. Everyone I know that has them, swears by them. I think I saw that the ones Ford sells are held in place by a double faced tape. Due to the bevel in the window molding, are they difficult to put on???? I have heard thet the ones made by "weathertec". I understand that they snap up under the window molding WITHOUT the tape?!?!?!?!?! PROS and/or CONS PLEASE.

I also have the 2002 Ford truck accessory book and it show a deflector for the rear slider but I was told today, it is no longer avaliable?!?!?!

I have the Weathertechs on my SCrew and like the looks better than the tape-ons I had on my '98. The tape-ons went on easy enough and never came loose, even though it went through many high pressure brushless car washes. If you use the tape-ons just be very careful to clean the window frame surface with the cleaning pads that come with the visors or use some alky.
I just got my rear window visor from JC Whitney, so you might check with them for availability.

I have weatherteks and think they look better and go on real solid. They also seem to be thicker material. I am very pleased with them.

I have the Ford OEM window defelectors and I haven't had any problems with them ... but if I had found this website before I bought the truck then I probably would have went with the weatherteks , would have went with the spray in liner too ... but , live and learn

Ditto on the Weathertechs, this is my second truck with them and they are great, if you like rain guards.

Squeeking problem with Weathertechs?

Some people have complained about the WeatherTechs squeeking during the last quarter-inch of window travel. Have you guys had this problem, and if so, what have you done to fix it?

Although they are about twice as much as the other brand, they sure do look good! The tape on kind looks sloppy. I havent had any problems but wish they were a darker color so they would block the sun on the drive home.

I had some bad squeeking for about three weeks and now it seems to be gone. I figure it's cause they are a tight fit in the window channels and it just needed to work itself into equilibrium.

Other than the squeeking for a little while, they are worth the money.

How about any wind noise with those rain deflectors. There must be some, is it noticeable ( irritaiting? at freeway speeds).

They do squeek a little until they get seated good in the channel. It has been minimal and not a problem at all. Also I have not noticed any additional wind noise from them.

Thumbs up Weather Tech

I have used the the WeatherTech WeatherFlectors and their Stone & Bug Reflector on my past 3 vehichles (4X4 Explorers) with No problems. I ordered for my SuperCrew before my truck was delivered to Dealer!

They sell direct over the net at: www.mats.com

They are a great product!

Unhappy

Hey guys ,
Sorry to not get the obvious, but what do these do. I read this post last night and noticed alot today on the road. They look good but, I'm not sure what their purpose is. Any help would be great. Thanks in advance.
