Hey woody24,

I use them in the summer time the most and let my windows down an inch or two to keep the cab cooler and if it rains then the water won't get in. Another use is shading you from the sun just a little bit depending on the angle of the sun.

However, I think the main reason they were invented is to keep water from rain or where ever from getting into your vehicle while you have you windows slightly opened for whatever reason you can find.

People who smoke usually don't like these shades as they interfere with blowing ashes off of whatever they like to smoke while driving. I love mine and don't like owning a vehicle without them.

Hope that helps,

Daveman

There is another option or two. There's some German made snap in visors and there are some made in Austrailia. I have the Austrailian made ones and love them. Very sturdy and they are the dark charcoal color of the Vent Visors. Got them from the link below. The visor's weren't on their page when I bought mine. I had to call and talk to Brian at the Bryant location. They're priced similar to the Weatherteks.

Actually, the WeatherTechs are made in Germany too.
