Follow the instructions that are included. They are some of the nicest Ford instructions I have ever seen. You do not need to remove the plastic molding from the window opening, only the glass part. The kit came with everything I needed for installation, even the sealer, so there should be no extra things needed in order to install it. If there are any questions once the window gets there, feel free to ask, but installation is very straight forward.

Um dufunnel, Do you think it would be possible to put some pics up of what your switch looks like and where you put it? Also how does the window actually work, is it on tracks or what?

I stoped by a place here in San Diego called American Sunroof Company and they would put in the CK Laurence POWR-Slider installed and warrented for 5 years for $645. They said that the switch is a rectangular switch not a rounded off one like the one in the owners manual (near the front of the owners manual right next to the power adjustable pedals).

I really want to get this but I also want it to look good on the dash. Also If I was to do this myself, how much work would it be getting the wiring done and the switch put in?

I will take some pictures when I drag the camera back out this weekend. The switch is a rectangular one, but it is not that ugly. I put it next to the one for the power pedals. The pictures will show it best. Wiring is not hard at all. The instructions are very good. There's not even any splicing. One connection gets hooked up to one of the fuses in the fuse box and another gets tied to ground. The hole in the dash was pretty easy to cut, too. I just used an Exacto knife.

How hard was it to separate the window, I know it has bolts.
But when you watch winshield guys try to cut the sealer with a
blade, it looks hard. Is it the same, or did the sealer trim easily?

The sealer did not need to be trimmed. If you apply a constant pressure on the window, it lets go very slowly on its own.

dcovell,

Just a quick idea, if you want the look of a Ford switch, go to hte dealer and buy a pedel Adjustment switch. I'm sure it would work for your slider and it is genuine ford. Put in your dash, carefully palced and it will look stock.

Found a website where to buy the OEM part...among many others

[URL=http://www.buyford.com/html/partscat-vwbody2.html[/URL]

And here is a photo of the power slider.

That black cover at the top is a window visor, so the power looks identical to the manual.

Local Ford body shop said they thought it would be more work than I realize. I think they are nuts as another here has apparently proven. Going to call a very reliable Ford body shop and ask them and know tomorrow.

Sound like a good idea S'CrewLoose. I would rather have a nice clean look and pay a few extra bucks.

Also another cool idea would be to be able to have a switch in the back by the window and on the dash. I would think that this could be done? The only problem with having a switch in the back would be people could mess with it, so I may not want to do that....????

Sorry about the pics. I am out of town on business, so I won't be able to post pics in the next week or so. Will do when I can.
