New Screw
Hey guys, I've been reading here for a couple of months and I finally went into the dealership and asked them to locate the exact one I wanted, I'm picking it up tomorrow!
I can't wait. Anyone got some tips on what to inspect and what to listen for on the first test drive? Also I can't wait to put in some mods, first one will be a bed liner, then the y pipe and exhaust upgrade. Any suggestions?

If you ordered the Towing Package, you'll probably have the standard 1.02" radiator. Inform them you want the 2.2" radiator before you take delivery....or at least get them to special order it and set up a swap-out date. Other than that, mine was absotutely poifect when delivered.
It was 7000 miles old before installing the SuperChip. I should have ordered and installed it long ago.....so don't wait too long. Suggest driving it a 1000 miles...then put it in and you'll feel the difference.
I've got a drop in liner....should have gone with the spray-in that you'll be doing (good choice).
Immediately, put in a K&N filter and get rid of the entire exhaust including the factory Y.
....and,
CONGRATULATIONS ON YOUR CHOICE OF TRUCK!!!

Check out the responses to my similar request of a couple of days ago. Lots of folks out there willing to help.
First thing I did was to buy a bunch of new cleaning products!
You may want to confirm if all the equipment is really in the truck. Check out the tow package radiator issues!
Also, listen for a "cluck" around 10-20 mph when just getting on the gas.
Good luck.

Cluck?
Cluck? What kind of cluck are you talking about? Also I do have the towing pkg, who should I ask to check the radiator, the sales person or the service mgr, and is there any written verification that you are supposed to get the bigger radiator, all the brochure says is quote "Class III Trailer/towing group: wire harness, hitch receiver, and Heavy duty electrical/cooling group" then immediately below it states "HD Electrical/Cooling Group (1): 72 amp battery, super engine cooling, and aux automatic transmission oil cooler". The footnote (1) at the bottom of the page states "Not available with the SuperCrew" end quote. So that tells me that the HD Electrical/Cooling group (with the big radiator) is not available on the SuperCrew? Is this wrong and if so you have a good source. Thanks in advance.
cajunscrew,
Regarding the radiator, please refer to volume of postings on this issue and you'll be well educated!:

Congratulations, you are going to love this truck. Some ideas - check the paint carefully for scratches, coverage and overspray. Check the fit of all the body panels. Check for rear seat head rests if that is important to you. Take a look at the rubber seal around the rear window surround - does it "pooch out"? Check for a larger radiator (1.42" core or larger) if you have the Class 3 tow package. Verify that all the items on the window sticker are installed on your truck. Verify the VIN on the sticker matches the one on your truck. Don't forget to ask for the window sticker if that is important to you. Crawl under the truck to check for any underbody damage that might have happened during shipping - dented oil pans, cracked front spoiler, etc. Check for a jack, jack handle, spare tire and owners manual. Check the fit of all the plastic panels in the cab. Check the operation of all the switches. Take a CD with you to check the radio operation. Don't let anyone rush you. Remember that the items that are "no problem to fix" are often a big problem to fix after you leave the lot. Hope this helps.

Thanks guys, I'm just waiting for the truck to arrive. It's being shipped in from a dealership a few hundred miles away. I'll sure take your advice and check it over very carefully.
As for the radiator issue, Ford said that there was a change in manufacturing. The two radiators have the same FLOW rate and that is all that matters. The FLOW rate is the important part, not the thickness. They both cool the engine the same. This is from the mouth of a Ford Service engineer.

Everything looks and sounds fine! Now I need to decide between Rhino or Line-X. What's the difference? Also anyone know if the stock head unit has preamp outputs. I'm about to put my bass tube under the rear seat and I need to hook up my amp. Thanks.
Cajun-
if you got the in dash CD there is no pre out. You'll either have to get a line level converter and tap the speaker outs, or perhaps your amp has a speaker level in? For a sub these options are probably OK cause poor quality signal probably won't be evident at those freq.
I opted to swap out the head unit for an aftermarket one with line outs.
I'm not sure if the CD changer version has pre outs, I didn't go with that option.

Hey don't sweat the details. Just make sure you don't pay anything over 30,000.00. And thats ttl included. Any questions just let me know. Mine has 10,000 miles on it and I've towed over 5,000 miles with a 31' Prowler trailer. Not one overheat incident or even close. Change your oil according to manufacture specs and you will be fine. As for all that other stuff-just look over the truck goood. Its A Ford remember. BD
bass tube install
Well the factory unit doesn't have preamp outputs so I bought a line output convertor to tap into the rear speaker wires. Only problem is that I don't know what color they are. Also big daddy Whiteboy my truck was 29k with 9% tax in baton rouge. I got the 4x4 with all the stuff listed in the signature portion at the bottom. You said not to pay more than 30K including taxes, is that for a regular 2wd? Over here the 2wd sell for 24k. Just wondering??
