King Ranch Rear Bench Seat
I probably should stay on the sidelines, it's getting a little testy here. I'll throw in my 2 cents about my purchase of a 02 s'crew. When I started looking in late '01, the KR didn't have the 60/40 rear seat available. So I focused on the Lariat. When I ordered my in late Oct. 01, I had heard that the 60/40 was available but I has already made up my mine on getting the Lariat. I love the KR package and think the seats make the package work. However, I prefer the lariats leather. It doesn't make a statement like the KR's and probably won't last as long, but my wife told me that I like it better. I'm 6'4" and can step into my 4X2 without a problem, so I didn't want the running boards. I did go with the heated seats, as I do with all my cars due to Iowa's frosty winters. I'd put them in my '66 Thunderbird, but since it stays indoors in the winter, they really not needed. So, Lariat or King Ranch, either way you really can't lose.

MY $.02, my wife's KR has the 60/40 rear split. We love it, especially since we tote her parents around everywhere. Put my son's car seat in the middle and we're good to go. To me it's much more practical than the rear captain's chair, but I can understand the unique factor those with the captain's charis enjoy. I'd be cussin the things out all the time if we had em. I'm glad that Ford decided to include the option, otherwise we probably would have the lariat.
I ordered my 02 KR in late Nov 01. Picked it up on 1/30/02. ordered it with the split rear bench. I love it with the split rear bench. It just makws it more practical. It's still a great truck regaedless how you order. Get the Lariat or KR, with or without split seats. Just get one you will love your truck.
