Gas Mileage?

What are you guys getting?

I'm averaging 13.9mpg around town in a 2011 4X4 with the 302 V8 and off-road package.

My neighbor has a 2011 SuperCab with the same motor, not off-road and he's getting 16.8mpg.

I'm acually getting better mileage since I posted this. Maybe the truck is getting broken in. About 1200 miles on it.

I'm starting to drive like a puss too now that gas is almost $4 a gallon

2010 F150 with 5.4 is averaging 18.5MPG but I'm driving like a pansy with the price of gas. I swear I'm going to get shot I take off so slow sometimes.

'08 FX4 SCrew, 5.4 w/catback & Edge... avg ~14.5 in the city, definately not driving like a puss.

3 different round trips to Florida and I avg-ed close to 21mpg, doing 85...

This, I like to hear.

I'm driving from Pennsylvania to the Florida Keys in 9 days. 1440 miles each way.

It looks like I'm settling into a 16mpg around town mileage. Not city. More like suburb.

Highway ranges from 18-22, depending on how hilly the terrain.

The drive to Florida is pretty darn flat, so I expect the best.

Just set the cruise. My mom went with me the last two times and didn't use it when it was "her turn" to drive and the mileage went down to about 17.5-18. She says my truck has "too much *****"... I told her "No, you're just used to driving 4 banger econo boxes".

South of Richmond, VA it was nice cause the traffic lightened up a LOT and the limit was 70. I set the cruise at 85 and just went. Dunno why, but I cruised past many, many statey's and they didn't even flinch... they were pullin over others though, so no, they weren't sleepin.

Got tagged by a Statey in GA coming back when I was driving my Grandmothers Fusion SEL. That thing was nice! Good get up and go for a 6cyl.

We drive to the Keys every year for our vacation so highway mileage makes a big difference. I use the cruise whenever I can.

The only difference this year as opposed to other years is that we're taking a slight detour.

Instead of picking I-95 South in Philadelphia, we're getting on I-81 South west of Harrisburg and heading down through the Blue Ridge Mountains. Going to pick up I-77 and then take 26 back over to I-95 in South Carolina. It will be pretty hilly for some of that ride.

It still beats the traffic, construction and general crappy view that I-95 provides.

True. I came to the conclusion GA left all their orange contruction barrels out on the highway cause they've got no place big enough to store them all... seemed like the entire section of 95 running thru GA had them.

The stretch from Baltimore to mid-Virginia is the worst. Especially Washington DC to Fredericksburg. Traffic and construction. Yuck!!!! Jacksonville stinks, too.

I remember when most of Jacksonville was under construction. Cattle shutes everywhere. I was towing my boat and man, that was a nail biter.

Screw it now, we rent a boat down there now. Save the beating on the truck and the trailer.

We use to tow the boat down with a V6 Blazer and 18 gallon tank. Had to stop for gas every 1.5 hours!!!! Now I'll have a 36 gallon tank and no boat behind me. We'll be getting gas for the first time in the Carolinas.

Alabama does the same thing. The construction was finished before Dec 2007, yet they still have the barrels a speed restriction signs up.

When they need the barrels for another project, they'll probably buy new ones and raise tolls to pay for it.

I just drove from Dallas to Grand Rapids, MI and got 19.2 overall. That was helped by numerous 55 mph construction zones though. I bought my 09 off of my father in law with an ARE shell. He claims to avg between 19 and 20.5 with his mostly highway driving. I can definitely live with that.
