Hey terpn8r,

I have a Gen 3 loaded and a friend of mine has a loaded Gen 1 and his truck is just as nice as mine. Only real (important) improvements are the rear headrests. Why don't you go ahead and order the skidplates and bolt them on. Ought to be quite easy. BTW, that Chestnut color you have is really sharp and only found on the KR I think now.

Only one... I allowed my wife to talk me into getting a black truck. Truck looks great when it is clean and I really do not mind keeping in clean but I am so tired of seeing scratches.

Hey Screwdriver,
Yeah, I'm not complainin', believe me. I'm in love. And, I certainly intend to buy the skidplates in the near future. The leather-wrapped steering wheel would be nice, though. I had this same plastic wheel in my previous car and it gets HOT! So, I'll be buying some sort of wrap this summer.
--I agree about the Chestnut color. The only other color I'd have considered was bright red --for the TERPS!
Thanks for the reply!

Have you seen the leather wrapped steering wheels from the Ford accessories catalog. They are the same as factory installed, but cost a bit more than an aftermarket wrap. Just a thought.

I can sit here and ponder about things that I wish I had but I honestly have no regrets or complaints. Well one complaint, It is so hard to decice on what to buy next to fix up "BIG RED" I really like my truck. I bought it off the lot with everything I wanted the one thing I wish it had is the "Home link" garage opener/voice message recorder. Climate control/trip computer GPS would also be nice But I am stretching it a little.

My only complaint is that it is a money-pit! Soooo many accessories...soooo little time...

27k miles, 11 mo old. Multiple LONG trips (have an '01 Grand Cherokee Limited, but I like driving the SCrew better).

NO PROBLEMS.

I love the truck, but got stranded on my first road trip, the instrement cluster went out!! None of the gauges worked and when I shut the truck off, the anti-theft wouldn't allow the truck to start!! NOT A GOOD SIGN FOR MY FIRST FORD!! Still holding out hope though, I just love the truck!!

Canyonmn...hopefully everything will be OK from here on out. However, every company builds a 'dog' now and then.
I had a 1999 Jeep Grand Cherokee Laredo that was in the shop EIGHT times before I had made EIGHT payments. That was after they had bought my ORIGINAL 99 Grand back due to a battery leak from the factory (ate into the frame). But we are tickled pink with our current Jeep.

Maybe we should try a "How Tall are supercrew owners" Topic, I am also 6ft 2"
Love the truck, agree with screwking reguarding the fog lamp switch. Never noticed any discomfort with the steering wheel/column. Would like to have the correct radiator being that I paid for it. Really like that shift on the fly 4 wheel drive.
5.4 is a bit noisey in the cabin, but has gobs of low end grunt, nice because I tow often.

I love this thing! A friend bought one with the 4.6L and wished he would have got the 5.4L so thats what I did and am very glad. I don't think the gas mileage is any different. That small engine just has to work harder to push the weight so it drags the mileage down. The additional power of the 5.4L is more than worth it.

My only regret is not finding this board before buying. Now I know why the dealer had to install(for free) the remote keyless system. The dealer was not willing to deal much on the other Screws, but on this one, he came down over $4500 off of the MSRP. Since finding this board, I was also able to negotiate a Ford bedliner for free, as well. Love my SuperCrew!

Keep up the good information!
