Talking

After a long talk with Salesman and service/parts director I brought in my truck and got with shop foreman and before I even showed him any documentation (from ford and this web site) he looked at my 1.02 and said this truck should have a larger radiator! after he called Ford (OASIS) some service acronym. He came out of his office said the part# I gave him for the 1.42 is what ford said should be in the truck. On order, will replace next week! Thanks Mcree Ford service and F-150 online

Wish me luck. I have appointment at the dealer this evening. The first time I called they said that was the right rad. The second time I called armed with part numbers they said bring it in and we will have a look.

About the CD player. Are they putting the ones with the fans in new truck? Could I asume mine has the one without the fan. It gets really hot but has not spit any out yet.
My wife keeps asking me if this is going to wreck our CD's.

If anybody has more info on the CD's I would be interested in this as I might want ot hit them up to get this fixed as well.

Thumbs up

Can someone give me the part number to the bigger rad. I just bought my screw and love it. Has any noticed if anything else was missing from the towing package? Also does anyone have the part number for the new cd player? Will the dealer replace the radio if you just have the old one or do you have to show them that it overheats?

Angry

Checked with the service manager at Rich Ford in Albuquerque, New Mexico concerning the rad problem. He "hadn't heard anything about it" but called Ford right away. He called me back today to say Ford is aware of the problem but is not authorizing replacement because they have yet to decide whether the 1.02" rad is "sufficient" for our trucks. A decision is expected by mid-April.

The only way I was told I could get the replacement was if I was actually overheating!!! Even then, I would have to take my truck in so that the dealership could reproduce the problem. SCREWED!!!

Shamaley Ford in El Paso replaced my 1.02 inch radiator with a 1.42 inch model. They checked and said the small was wrong and ordered a new one. A few days later I had a new one. I saw dealer with full documentation. Thanks to D.Kolb and other for the information.

Question

Is there a build date when they began getting the radiators correct?

Mine was built on 02/26...has wrong rad.

I started the process w/ my dealer yesterday. Gave him part number on rad on truck and he said he will get back to me.

If they say I've got the right one I will walk in w/ all documentation.
