Thumbs up RADIATOR REPLACEMENT INFO!!!

Just went to the dealership here in Federal Way Washington. I walked in and talked to the service guy and asked him "Just for grins, What all is included with the 535 trailer towing package?" He said he wasn't sure but he would help me find out. We went to the sales dept and he was asking for the "road map" from one of the sales guys. He had a large binder with pamphlets that appeared like brochures all booked together (SALES GUIDE?). Luckily, I had my window sticker which read "trailer towing group, class III" (THIS IS IMPORTANT!!!!!). As we read through the book there were two areas, one that read trailer towing package and another that read trailer towing group. Under the trailer towing group, was "cooling upgrade (larger radiator)" IT SPELLED IT OUT!!!! I told him the part number for the 1.42" (thanks guys)and he said OK.
Well, my 1.42" goes in Thurs.

Note: The parts guy did say that there was only one rad for the truck though. The service guy said "Well, I called MY parts guy...not the idiot at the public parts desk!" ....What does that tell you???
Good luck!!!!

D.KOLB....I just had my upgraded 1.42" installed yesterday by my greatest Ford Dealer ever!

I did just about the same thing plus brought in the documentation from this site on this issue. They had a look at it, measured my present radiator, said this is not right, ordered me up the 1.42", two day delivery, 1hr install yesterday and said have a great day!

Oh ya...they also have my upgraded CD player on order!!

BRING ON THE HOT SUMMERS!

I believe the older one has the breakfast cooking option and you have it accidentally selected... thus your CD's are coming out well done!

Mine is working fine... if I could only figure out a way to get my scrambled eggs out of that little slot!

Pesos...all I did was tell my dealer here in Calgary about the problem I was having with the CD player getting really hot and spitting the CD out.

They said that a number of people around Calgary have had the same problem and that the problem is being taken care of by a upgraded replacement to the original factory single Cd player. Now if your from a warm part of the world you probably have not ran into this problem.

Contact your dealer and have them find out from Ford about the replacement stereo that Ford is coming out with...it has a built in fan!

Glad I could help jimsfausn. Mine started warming up when towing a trailer at 75. Not hot, just higher than cruising.

Now, About that radio.......

Cool

If your single CD player is overheating (because Ford ran the heater hoses right behind the CD stereo) and kicking out the CD's and reading CD HOT, then Ford has a bigger and better CD player for us under warranty. I guess it also has a built in cooling fan and a few more extra's than the original one that came with the truck!!

I believe this thing even cooks you breakfast on your way into work...kidding about the breakfast thing!

D.Kolb,
Well on the 16th my ford dealer order my 1.42" rad. Yesterday morning they call me to let me know that the rad came and they
could put it today. I took my truck bye and lsft it while Liz and i went shopping at a town
about a 100 miles away. We got back about 5PM
and they had my truck ready with the new 1.42 rad. Thanks agai D.Kolb your stuff worked.
Are could have been that I have bought 23 vehicles from this dealer?
I have a picture of the 1.02" rad, but didn't get one of the new one but it's larger for sure.

Got the 1.42 in today! Everything went great. I told the tech that put it in about this problem with other SCrews. He just shook his head and said it didn't surprise him. Did a good job with the rad. though....

Talking

Just got the 1.42" radiator installed by my dealer who never really put up a fight at all. The service manager basically said that the dealers represent Ford to the customers and it was up to them to make the customer happy. I am really happy so far with my new S'Crew and my dealer!

Had my new radiator installed yesterday without having problems with the dealership.I was told that the latest model was installed namely 2.3". All I can tell - it is a lot bigger then the one they replaced.

Cool

I took my SCrew in to the Dealer to have a few things tweaked and mentioned the "The Radiator". I supplied the SM with all the info supplied by this and other sites Part#'s Etc. The SM called me today and informed me that a new radiator has been ordered and should be here in about a week.
Thanks to all of you who did all the research...
