Unhappy

Mine did it first time this morning, about 8 degrees F. I warmed it up for 5 min stepped in it and backed out of the driveway not using the gas. I went to drive away and found it was froze up at idle. Took a decent stomp to free it. It felt slightly sticky after that and drove about 20km to a customer. When I came back about 2 hours later it worked fine.

When it started getting cold here in the DC area I noticed the accelerator would stick when starting out in the morning. No real pattern and only occasionally.

Took the vehicle in today and they are going to replace the throttle body. Unfortunately, the dealer didn't have one in stock -- so have to wait. Will let everyone know if this ultimately solves the problem.

Question

Anybody get this fixed yet? I am going to have mine in for service on Tuesday. It has now froze about 4 times and I have to bring the truck in for first service. This is the only problem besides one backup light not working. Does it have something to do with the movable pedals as I have not heard of this problem on the other F150's? Any feedback before Tuesday's trip to the dealer would be appreciated.

I took the truck in today. There must be a service bulletin out about this as they have ordered a throttle body which they told me was Ford's recommendation.

Spidercat,
Are you out there. You said they ordered the throttle body for your truck as well. Did you get it fixed yet?

Try cleaning the throttle body. I am told it is due to the butterfly sticking to a residue in the throat. I am going to clean mine tonight and see.

I have to agree with ORVAL.
I have to take mine in for service next week and spoke to the service person and told him what was happening, he didn't even bat an eyelash. Told me to bring it in and it would be taken care off. I wasn't even questioned about when it happened or anything. I think they know something isn't quite right with the throttle. I'll let you know what they say. I am taking it in to fix the tailgate lock. The lock works good, just can't unlock it now.
Ahh.. the joys of owning a truck. Wouldn't change it for anything.

Bringing mine in on Monday. The to fix list includes frozen excel. pedal, weeping rear diff, erratic gas gauge operation and front window that pops in at the top when closing. All except the leeking differential are intermitent so I'm not expecting alot to get done because the problem probable won't show itself to the tech the day it's there.

By the way I have 16K miles on it.

Did they take care of everything? That is a lot of stuff to go wrong in 16000 miles
