Water in tail lights
With all the rain we have had lately I have gotten water into both tail lights. Anyone else have this happen to them? The dealer is going to replace them and do a few other fixes for me. I had read about mud getting into the tail lights, but not water.

I posted a few questions on this in May or June. What I did was to put on a molded mud flap . I also bought some ribbed rubber used for flooring in R.V.'s and added it to the width of the inner wheel well. I used plastic push in plugs to attach it to the wheel well liner and unless you look closely, you wouldn't know it didn't belong. Sounds complicated but wasn't and did solve the problem.
The mud and water get in from the wheel throwing it back and it falls down through the large holes above the light. Unbolt the two bolts you can see when you lower the tailgate, take out the light slightly and look at the opening above the light in the housing. I wonder if the composite bed needs more cooling around the light?
I read about this problem quite awhile ago and thought of a precautionary fix (which I have yet to do).
I think I'll get some elastomeric roofing ice dam material and cut some patches to paste over the holes. The patches would have slits to slip around the wire harness. They would also be readily removable if needed.
