Post Gas Mileage

Just curious as to what type of gas mileage you guys may be getting with your Screw and the 5.4 liter engine, with and without 4X4, any mods?

My first tank of gas averaged 16.2 mpg on 70% city and 30% highway driving. That should improve with in time. Very pleased for a 5.4L engine.

I have been getting 19mpg on highway with my 5.4l 4x4 less in city around 14mpg. I had the 4.6 in my supercab and got less than I get now with mods. I like the added power with the 5.4 has.Been using regular fuel

Thumbs down

I get less than 13 a gallon. I don't get good miliage since I drive from house to house and idle alot. I oversee the construction of new homes. If I wanted better miliage I could have gotten a Geo Metro cheap. 3500 miles to date and no problems except that my keys don't work the tailgate.

Looks like I'll be around 15mpg, but this is my first full tank. I only have 500 miles on my truck. The sad thing is that I have but 500 miles on in 1 week!!

my first tank I got about 15.5 mpg on a long highway trip. Since then I've been getting about 13 mpg on my work commute which is mixed city / highway. (of course in L.A., highway is the same as city!). I've got 2600 miles on the truck and the mileage seems to be SLOOOOWLY creeping up. I envy the mileage some of you guys are getting!

autoloadr, I think your mileage will increase as soon as you get your bed cover, any cover makes a difference unless you run without the tailgate up.

I now have over 6,000 miles. My driving is 70/30 city highway. I have kept detailed records. i use 89 octane (best mpg so far).

All around = 12.45 mpg
All City = 11.72
All Hwy = 13.89

Milage has actually went down about .10 since the Velosity tube and exhaust were installed.

The milage just plane sucks. I have a hard time believing anyone is getting 17 mpg no matter how they drive.

Lets see some pictures of the big white beast

Why are you using 89 octane? Were you having issues with ping? I wonder if the tires are causing the MPG?

My mileage is:

Tank1 = 13.227 MPG
Tank2 = 14.039 MPG
Tank3 = 16.271 MPG

Any Chance this trend can continue for a few more tanks? :-D

I have a mixed driving pattern driving mostly between 35-60 MPH and I take "back roads" to avoid a lot of lights. I plan on getting a A.R.E. LSII Hard cover (possibly the wing as well) when I can better cope the $1000 charge. (705/cover, 250/Wing + Tax... Installed and painted to match the Truck.) Maybe the gas mileage will go up 2 MPG and help pay for the cover in 10 yrs or so. :-D

No mods Yet. See Sig for details

Didn't start keeping track until the odometer was at 1200 miles. Let the engine break-in a little. I've got 2200 on it now, averaging 14.95 mpg (90% city)

Almost 9k miles.
avg. 13.57 mpg
highest avg. for tank 16.27 mpg.

We haven't taken an all hyway trip since installing the Superchip or the Snuglid. Yes we would like to see better milage but then who wouldn't with gas prices being what they are.
