Exclamation Build Delivery Dates

Called the VOPC and received the message that...

Your vehicle has arrived at the ramp.

Does anyone have any idea exactly what this means??? So far I'm pretty pleased with how quickly things have moved along

9/15/00 - Ordered at dealer
9/20/00 - VIN issued
10/2/00 - Scheduled build week of 10/9/00
10/12/00 - Vehicle has been shipped by rail
10/17/00 - Your vehicle has arrived at the ramp as of 10/15/00

Drove by the dealer last night just to look over the lot hoping to see my truck but nothing...

I was told that meant it had been off loaded from the train. Check my posts on "Question about build dates", Big Daddy White Boy, and hear my frustration with all that. It is also on Edmunds Town Hall. Good Luck with your new truck!

NOW I'M EVEN MORE CONFUSED!!!

UPDATE...

Called the VOPC this morning and they said my vehicle has been shipped via rail as of 10/17/00. I'm guessing they have several "staging area" throughout the country where they change trains??? Was really hoping to take this beast for a long ride this weekend... Ohhh well, pretty close but not here yet. I guess I can't complain after hearing how long others are waiting.

Previous to this the status was:

9/15/00 - Ordered at dealer
9/20/00 - VIN issued
10/2/00 - Scheduled build week of 10/9/00
10/12/00 - Vehicle has been shipped by rail
10/17/00 - Your vehicle has arrived at the ramp as of 10/15/00

Cool

Well lets see oh yea Will you be towing that 31 ft. trailer with your new Screw? It looks to me both our trucks where built around the same time. Mine has been on the slow train from Mo.for 8-days. Called my monkey (salesman) and he said expect it the 28 of Oct. Well thats what vopc says but "week of October 28". Hence the question since when did the week start on a Saturday. It sure is confusing and to think you pay this kind of money to order one of these and this is what we get to use to track it. Oh well gave up a long time ago just sign me FRUSTRATED.

Mine arrived at the dealer on Wednesday night. I ordered it 8/24 and VOPC claimed it would be here the week of 10/24. Unfortunately I am so busy here at work now I can't pick it up until Wednesday 10/25...

This waiting really stinks! I guess even though it showed up early the VOPC was still right on since I'm picking it up the day after...

If it makes anyone feel better. I called VOPC today.
Ordered---8/11
VIN assigned---10/19
No build date.
No date of arrival.
This is after the dealer called the district manager.
I hope your Screws arrive soon. I've kind of lost interest.

Got Mine Yesterday. It came in Thursday the 19th but I was out of town and was able to pick it up Saturday. We will have no trouble learning to like this truck.

Thumbs up

BIG DADDY WHITEBOY,
You asked about the trailer a few replies ago. I have been out of town and havn't been able to reply. Of course my truck came in too while I was gone. Anyway yes I will be pulling the trailer with the new truck. The 98 supercab towed it 4000 KM this summer and I am sure the new SCrew will do even better and the kids can ride in comfort now. Let me know when you get yours and if they where built around the same time. I am glad mine came as quick as it did considering it had to clear Canadian customs as well.

GregFry,

Don't give VOPC to 100% accuracy. I had my truck for a week while the system showed it "at the ramp". 9 days after delivery it finally showed "delivered to final destination in order"

If you're really hyped up and can't wait:
and you're located near the Rail entry point, your dealer can mark the vehicle as "HOT" in the system for a quicker delivery by convoy carrier once it lands at the ramp. Otherwise it'll show up when the carrier company has enough orders going your dealer's way to load a trailer.

AS OF 10-10-00: 2001 Supercrew, XLT 4x4, Island Blue & Silver Frost. 5.4L, 3.73LS, 17 inch 10 spokes, Capt's chairs, Moonroof, 6 pack CD Changer, keyless entry, cab steps, Box Extender, Huskys all around, Duraliner,
A.R.E. LSII and Excalibur Security system coming.

Yea, when I checked Monday morning the VOPC still said my vehicle was being shipped via rail. Then the dealer gave me a call Monday morning saying it had arrived and was ready for delivery. Picked it up yesterday and am so far VERY pleased with it. The only problem I've found so far is it's about 6 inches too long to fit in my garage. DOH!!!

P.S. Mine has the 4.6L and seems to have plenty of power. I was a little worried after talking with others but it seems to be able to get it when needed.
