NEWS BULLETIN...SUPERCREW after a long and agonizing wait for a vehicle he ordered months ago has vanished! this has been a common trend as a new craze has swept over ford fans surrounding the obsession with a newly released vehicle...the 2001 Ford SuperCrew. At this point family members (to include f150 online message board fanatics) are hoping the dealer will be unable to prep his vehicle as this will gaurantee an immediate return. however, if it is prepped, we don't expect to see him for a couple more days. the dealer is decling to comment on the whereabouts of SUPERCREW. back to you...

Cool

Well,I'm here & the truck is not. No one to prep new vehicles at Princeton Ford on Saturdays. However, after waiting 11 weeks, I will survive until Monday. The truck, even with its pre-prep dirt looks pretty good to me. Of course I paid a fortune to get pictures developed w/in a hour so I could post for all to enjoy. I sent a picture to usaf K9 to do his magic, since I do not have web site to load them on.
Some initial observations: 1. There is no rear seat floor mat(s). The dealer said he would "look around" since there are some expys in the lot with rear mats. 2. The color of the Lariat stripe and 4x4 symbol is a light metallic beige/bronze color The stripe itself has a blue center. Kind of an odd color for a blue-over-silver two-tone. When you see the picture, you decide. 3. The SS bed extender is certainly worth the $195. It cannot be removed if the tailgate is closed and locked. But it is easily removed once the tail gate is down and the extender is flipped to its extended position (Keep that gate locked-those extenders are $460+ at the parts dept.) 4. I have the captains chairs, so the rear cupholders are in the center rear fold-down seatback. 5. Fit and finish seem good. Doors, hood fit well with even gaps. I didn't notice any paint flaws, but will reserve final opinion until after it's been washed. 6. I drove it briefly & no squeaks or rattles at all. Seems very tight compared to my '90 Bronco. That's about it for now. Will provide further report after I drive it for a week.
Shocman,
What happened to your truck? I thought it was due this weekend too.

Supercrew, apparently you have your pictures on a file so why don't you try going to www.Photopoint.com and set up a free account with your pictures. That way you can either down load onto this site or link it to your signature.

SuperCrew, after waiting so long, why aren't you camping out at Princeton Ford this weekend. I see ShocMan already eyeing up this truck. I thought I saw it listed on Ebay too, hmmm.

Good luck with it SuperCrew, hope to see you around the state soon.

BTW, have you ordered you F150online stickers from Steve? It's worth about 5hp, or so it's claimed.

Supercrew,
Still waiting for my supercrew!
Ours were probably on the same train and the trucks are working their way east across new jersey.
Nice picture of your truck!

SuperCrew and everyone with the bed extender,

The bed extender can be removed with or without the tailgate shut and locked.
I'm not going to leave mine in the truck until I get some kind of locking cover.

skyjet,

installed my bed extender yesterday. plz explain how the extender can be stolen with it flipped in the bed and the tailgate locked. i can't see it happening unless the extender was mounted in backwards.

of course, someone could take a wrench to it and unbolt it. of course they could do that to the wheels also.

Question

USAF K9,

I have installed the bed extender both ways and had no problem removing it with the tailgate locked. It is a little harder if the release clips are on the bottom, but it is still easy to do. I'm not talking about removing any bolts, just unclipping it. Do you have the same clips as shown below ?

More pictures of my bed extender are at my web sight. www.over.to/SuperCrew

Let me know if yours is different.

damn you're right. hate when that happens. and i thought i had beat the crook when i stripped out one of the bolts installing it. guess i'll have to take it out when not in use or loop a dog choke chain through the tie downs and lock it in.

oh yeah, yes i have the same mounting hardware.
